That's fine.  On the left side, the bulb holder is toast.  I haven't had a lot of trouble with the right side other than having to clean the contacts from time to time (cracked lense/bad seals = corrosion) so 1 should be sufficiant to get me back on the road.  And somewhere I've got a decent used lense I bought at the Knoxville show in 2010.   8)

If I can catch a break in the rain, I was going to try to drain the tank and clean out the carb this weekend.  I'm tired of paying for auto insurance on a storage building! . . . But then, when I put Homer back on the road, I'll have to buy a storage building AND pay auto insurance . . . oh well, it's time.  He's sat too long.  He's ready to get out of the yard and see the world again.   :whitebay:

Tony (takeflight) turned me on to this little parts supply house out in CA at the May meeting. I sent off and received a catalog in the mail last month. I am putting together an order for some stuff Matthew and I need and thought I'd throw it out there to yall as well. Take a look at the catalog and let me know if there is anything you need.

THIS STUFF IS CHEAP!!!

Check out www.vwrepublic.com/Images/century/Century.2013.03.pdf to see about downloading a PDF from earlier this year. Its not the exact same as the june one that I received, but it looks very similar.

Let me know by Friday- I plan on ordering Friday afternoon.

Them are some good prices! I might have to pick up a few things. I'll let you know by the end of the week after I've gone through the catalog.

I use to deal with these folks A LOT years ago. Whats really sad was they use to  have a big store in B'ham Ala. Long gone now.(15-20 years ago) They had a lot of very good quality parts. Example-  Kobenscmit or Mahle P/C's $38.00 in lots of 5,  Rod bearings $4.50, cam bearings $2.25, Main Brg's $9.50. (From a old catalog I have) Disgusting !!

I wonder if Jai still has his Delorian?  Does anybody have an extra flux capacitor laying around?

Just saw this, WOW.
What was shipping like?
Any way, when I get rolling on the Ghia, there are a few things I'll need.
Thanks for sharing,
KC

We ordered a few tie rods and drag links, along with a handful of other small, but not exactly light parts. He estimated $30 but was supposed to get back with me to confirm the shipping price. I'm going to give him a call this afternoon and check on the status

I got an update from the guy on Thursday. He said he would need my address before he could ship. I told him in was in the email I sent him last week... I guess that is why he doesn't have a website... anyways, we got it cleared up and it went out on Friday. Should be here next Thursday. Its a little slower than I would have expected, but still not awful (faster than CIP!)

I am going to make a cyber monday order and I'm already into free shipping on this one. If anyone needs anything that qualifies for free shipping and wants to throw it in, I will gladly order. Deadline is Monday at 6pm.

respond on here.

Nick, if you are still placing an order with CIP1 . . .

I need two of these:  http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC%2D211%2D945%2D241%2DRK

and one of these:  http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C16%2D137%2D191%2DLR

And I'm back in that same boat.  I need two taillights for Homer and the seals.  I had the one you ordered before and the seals, but I stepped on the lense and broke it the other day . . . and I have no idea what I did with the seals.
