They are back .   I remember a pair that I had, White with 2" red vertical stripes. I thought they were so cool. Wait a min. The word  Cool wasn't the "IN" thing to say at that time " Farrrrrrr Out man" was it. To top the outfit off was my jean jacket with all kinds of patches like "Eat mo Grits"
"Keep on Trucking" and patches with of some kind of green plant on them, "Make Love Not War"  all the while sporting around in my Yellow Manx Buggy. God !! I loved the 60s. I get a kick out of the kids today trying to re-create the 60s. It will never happen. Things have changed to much and not for better in some cases. Do any of you old farts ever have a "Stone Thought" about the 60s ? I thought so.

Somewhere in mom's collection of pictures there has to be one of me and older brother from about 1970 or 71 wearing what had to the "Grooviest, most Far Out" pants ever!  Mom made them for us.  The were jeans made from red, white and blue striped denim.  The stripes were about an inch wide and the blue stripes had white stars.  The bell bottoms were probably as big as the waist.  She also made us naugahide (is that how it's spelled) vest.  I think mine had a keep on trucking patch on it.

The year was 1976.  I was 8 years old.  America was celebrating its 200th anniversary.  My great-grandmother was heavy into crocheting.  We went to a big Bicentenial gala promoted by Flordia's orange juice industry, complete with free orange juice and their current spokesperson, Anita Bryant.  My brother, sister, two cousins and I went to this party decked out with red, white, and blue crocheted pants, shirt, and...vest.
I wish I had a picture of us in those homemade clothes.  Then I could burn it.

In 1970, I went to Australia for R & R from the land of the little yellow people. On arrival, I HAD to buy some clothes and one of the outfits was a pair of black bell bottoms with a black silk Nero shirt. How many of you remember them?

 :-k   :-k

I plead the 5th and deny everything and demand proof....

OK I will admit the most outrageous thing I ever had from the 70's was a bellbottom pant and vest outfit that had a design I can't even begin to describe. The best I can describe is remember what you saw when you hit your head that time very very hard unexpectedly and all the stars, diamonds, circles, and other bright lights came around. Now you got the picture!!! I still had it in my closet when Denise and I married. If you ever get the chance ask her about it. She still laughs at some of my clothes I had when we married. Oh and did I mention the "Stacked" shoes??

aaaaaah the truth comes out! lol.Yes I had the stacked shoes.I bet the heel was 4 inches tall.I still remember those bell bottoms of mine.I got my mother(rest her sole)to wash and press them seems like everyday.I bet people thought I just had three outfit's to wear at school lol. You know the movie slingblade with Billy Bob Thornton.I guess Billy Bob and I would have the same comment."I liked them,I liked them alot" except he would be talking about bisquits.

It's called "sarcasm".  Grains of salt are very small.

Imagine a red/white/blue leisure suit made out of crocheted nylon.  It would make you want to destroy any record of you ever owning it.

Pretty tight, but I'm sure we had something on underneath...

Man! A crocheted leisure suit !    Farrrrrrrrrr Ouuuuut !!!!!
       I can see where you would want to consider burning the  photo. Talk about blackmail material.  I hope it was a tight stitch or you may have looked like an escapee from a patriotic shrimp boat. Does this photo exist ?     I bet you were a "cute little feller" in that outfit ,beard and all
