69 Baha body up for grabs,No hood or rear decklid, but has doors. Front glass cracked but I have the original rear glass. Looking for parts for a 62 project or make offer. Body is definetly workable but not for me,rear apron was cut for baha.

If I were you I would use the 69 body for the rat rod. The ones I seen at the show had no rear apron on them. You don't need one for a rat rod. Plus you would have a pretty good start on it compared to the 62.

This is true the 62 might make a good Art piece but it's rough to restore. I tore off all the rust and there's not much left.

Me and a sawzall hmmm.... The 62 didn't make it. Or didn't make the cut   Well actually it made the cut alright.
I may or may not use the 69 still pondering. Moose said he would get it next week.

Hmmmmm ! I thought the point of building a "Rat Rod" was to leave all the ugly on the car. Rust ,dents etc.  Sort of like the ex-red Bug with the front about to drag on the ground, that was at BP-8.

Yep the ugly staying is a plus, alot of people get crazy with a ratrod the intent is a no budget hotrod.
That car at BP8 is a hoodride a totaly seperate monster. They pride themselves in orignal bodies, lowered suspensions, and the nicest wheels they can find. Most of those cars are very original, believe it or not.
The little red fella at the show was numbers matching and all paper work from the original dealer in the glovebox. Hoodrides don't like being called rat rods and most rat rods don't know what a hoodride is. There is the new school lesson of the day,now if you want somethin tech as the godfather cause IDK.

For examples see www.hoodride.com

Well ! What is the  differents between a Rat Rod and a Hood Ride ? 30 years ? They look the same to me now as they did then .  Where have they been, under a rock ?   I love the look !!  What goes around comes around AGAIN

Hey Scott, your boys were out in full force at CYW this weekend.  That "hoodride" Beetle in the above pic had more accessories piled on top.  I think it was the same one...it had an extended over the decklid roof rack, another beetle rack on top of that one, and then a full-length bus rack on top of that.  To top it all off, there was a couch on top of the bus rack.  This was to get all that stuff home...the extended rack was the one that was truly attached to the roof.

Moose has the baha and is making a rat rod.I'm looking for a barnfind for an all original type hoodride. Let me know what you find.I saw seven bugs that were decent right down the road from the bugs in the woods. One is around a 68 or so auto stick that's pretty decent  4 of em next door the guy wasn't home and 2 more in between were baha's.

Hey !!!!!,  Just give up and buy them all .  I heard that Zen has more room, Scott can put a "pile" down at his place in Ga.  Jason can load his inlaws yard up. I think its a no-brainer.
