The "Short Bus" FS on eBay

« on: November 24, 2004, 09:59:22 PM »
Here's your chance to own your very own "Short Bus!"   :tard:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15291&item=4506812764&rd=1

It's listed as a 1968 . . . "I HAVE THE TITLE THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME FOR THIS BUT I CAN NOT FIND THE VIN NUMBERS I DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO LOOK BUT I WILL GIVE A BILL OF A SALE AND A POLICE VIN INSPECTION WITH IT ALSO. NO GUARANTEE ABOUT THE TITLE."

I think maybe he used to ride to school in this bus!

Hey Herb, you have your own potential "short bus" sitting in your driveway . . . most of what you would have to cut out is rusted out anyway!  And you might gain a point or two with Dee 'cause it would take up less room . . .

Herb, What do mean you can`t drive it ? I had a friend that had a bus that had about 3 feet between the tires, only enough room for the front seats. He use to go crashing through the woods with us when we had Buggys. He would dump the thottle and dang front end would jump off the ground and over rocks that we couldn`t even think about. He had to be careful not to flip over backwards when he pulled this stunt. He drove this thing to work at Southland VW everyday for a long time  until the law grounded him for doing "wheelys" down Brainerd Rd everytime he started off at a traffic light. It was somthing to witness. Its name was "The Frog"  .  A `62 I think. If you looked at from the front or rear, you couldn`t tell it had been cut.

These things are pretty cool but I wouldn't want to take one on the highway either! Seen one up in Virginia years ago and the other day I saw one either on the web or in an old VW magazine that had one of those rear wheel thingys that dragsters have to keep them from flipping over when they do wheelies (which the one in the picture I saw was doing)

OK guys............the wheels are turning already.........!!  If Kyle can stretch a Vanagon then surely I could shorten an old bus. I have the equipment if Richard will let me bring it back home.    Please don't say anything to Dee about this.  [-X

I would much rather do something like this to a bay window but I already have the split window. :-k
