Seeking a:  65 - 70 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia or a 68 - 72 411 Squareback

Hi Scenic City Volks Folks,

My name is Kyle Busch and I am the Author of the book: ?Drive the Best for the Price ? I am looking to pay cash and give my 86 Volkswagen Jetta (driven over 510,000 miles) for a 65 - 70 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia or a 68 - 72 411 Squareback (no modifications) with a solid chassis, no leaks or smoke.  The Jetta runs good given its high mileage and it can be seen at my auto web site: Drivethebestbook.com.  My e-mail is kbusch3@verizon.net, and phone 814 833-1511.  Additionally, I am a National Automotive writer for the San Francisco Examiner: http://www.examiner.com/automotive-in-national/kyle-busch.

My 86 Volkswagen Jetta:

1.8 gas engine
5-speed transmission
Clean interior
Recent maintenance:
Oil and filter
Spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor
New water pump
New half-shaft (driver?s side)
New shift linkage bushings and rebuilt shift lever

Get some automotive history and money!  Kyle Busch?s 86 Jetta with framed inspection record documenting mileage and cash.

If you know of someone who has a solid 65 - 70 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia or a 68 - 72 411 Squareback, please pass the word along!  Last, but not least, follow me on Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you,

Kyle Busch

If he wants to hire a lumberjack to go recover the gold 412 that Mr. "My-VWs-are-higher-than-gold-prices" will sell him one in Whitwell. He had one that looked complete but about as rough as everything else he has. I didn't inquire on a price....

That's a REAL squareback... type 3.... the later T4 version uses the bigger engine (hence, type 4).... they use the quad headlamps, fatter, rounder tails... Kinda a dog of a car, never popular in this country.  David used to work with a mechanic who REALLY like them....  :D

Subtracting 1 from a 412!   ;D  The 411 and 412 were a little larger than the type 3 and sported a type 4 engine.  They seemed to have been quite a bit less popular than a Dasher.  I had a 411 2 door fastback project for a while . . . until the folks that were storing it got tired of it and had it scrapped.  I still need to thank them for that!   ;D

Based on the number of years they made 'em, units sold, and how many are still around today, the Dasher has the type 4 beat hands down!
