sold

No title. BUT a very cool modified cabriolet.  Has had engine work including: cam, intake, poly mounts, supposed to have a Volvo CIS setup, trans has has some work as well, has a tight limited slip diff of some sort, lowering springs and german struts, front control arm bar,17 in. Enkei wheels, some sort of fender flare/body kit,MR2 vent in hood, newer cloth top that hasnt had the rear window cut out ,battery relocated to the trunk, no power steering or a/c.  The alternator is inop.  Starts and runs VERY strong, will spin both front tires from a roll in the parking lot in first.  The steering wheel is junk and MUST be replaced due to cracked hub adapter, it works fine but I don't trust it!  $1000 firm.  I was going to swap everything over to a vehicle with a title, but would rather just sell it because I just don't have any time to do anything! :P

Any ideas as to why the Alt isn't working?
i.e. obvious burnt wiring?
Also is there an AC compressor, and under dash unit?
-if not, can you get an idea as to what is missing?
Thanks.

if you or anyone here buys this and decides to do any part swapping... there are some parts off of this I would be interested in. I have no need for a whole car though.

The only thing left of the a/c is the evaporator and some hacked off lines. No burned wires that I have seen, may just be a bad alternator.  It is not in a factory location, you would have to do some fab work to install a compressor...not a simple bolt in. The hvac control head is broken like most and it suffers from a tempermental instrument cluster that works when it wants...also like most from these years.

the body kit is the factory "clipper" kit that comes on all 88 and newer cabriolets... the volvo cis is actually only the bottom half of the air filter box. the top half and the cis itself looks to be standard vw. people found that the bottom half of a volvo air filter box mates up to the vw cis box, allowing piping and a cone filter to be installed. very clean looking outside on that 86... how did you aquire it?

That sounds right on,and it is very clean body wise.  Not sure what the deal is with the intake, what it came from or why it was used here but they did have to cut the rain tray to get it to fit. I bought it from a customer that needed it out of his driveway. It was his sons and had been sitting in the driveway for a couple years, it came with no title and not running. I called the police and ran the vin, it came back clean.

No title will be a prob with me.  Even in GA you have to have a title on any thing 86 and up...
Any chance the PO would help with the title situation, if so I want 1st dibbs.
Thanks.

You can get a title... it jsut takes some time and effort. I can't remember all the steps, but I know there are 5 and it includes stuff like: have it apraised, take photos of all 4 sides, have a THP officer verify the VIN, fill out a form, and maybe give a certified letter to the last known owner requesting the title with proof of no response (or their story in return). Seems like you also had to place a public notice ad or something. Or maybe it was a combination of all those. I don't know, but it looked like something you could make happen pretty easily if you put in a 1/2 days worth of work.

No help from po, they did not get a title from the seller. Story goes it was a trade deal from Atl. that got traded again and the title ended up gone in the process. I have no interest in going through all the legal hoops to title it, if I can sell it as is great, if not I will end up using all the goodies on something else....just may take some time...ok maybe a lot of time!

I remember seeing this car driving around, I thought it was funny with no rear window.

I have a pristine Enfield MkI British .303. It is a 1944 and saw some time in WW2.
It has alot of character and has notches (3 I think) carved into the stock.
This gun hasn't been cut down into a hunting rifle (like a lot), and has the wood al the way to the last 3/4" of the barrel.  Also the rifle-ing in this gun is counter clockwise.
I also have approx 40 rounds of chromeolly steel APR (full metal jackets) - good to 3/8" plate I've been told and approx 40 regular loads (winchester cort loads) and some reloads.
This is a neat gun and it is a hoss.  This is the gun that tamed Africa, big game / germans... LOL.
Let me know if your interested in a lookie lu and a shoot.
Thanks,
KC
