Copper Jewel Has Been Sold!!

« on: June 05, 2003, 10:54:32 PM »
Copper Jewel is on the market. I have updated this entry to reflect the new data and not start a new thread. It has a new 2275cc engine and stage 3 heads by Steve Sands at Pro Flo Performance, new super diff transaxel built by Hunter's Transaxel. I will provide a list of the engine components a little later. No used parts or junk. The engine and transaxel have about 600 miles on them as of now. There are lots of goodies on this beauty. Some of you have seen it and know it is sweet. The asking price is $14,000.00. For more information call 770-574-8136 or 770-639-9521 (cell) and leave a number. There are pictures in the gallery, member rides, page #2.

Also a have a 16ft car hauler that is for sale. I have completely reterofitted the trailer with all LED lights. There are flush mounted sequential turn signals mounted in the fenders in addition to the regular stop/turn/tail lights. I also mounted LED side markers.  I have used the trailer one time. It has a spare tire and mount, new tires and wheels, and electric brake on one axel.  Also you can E-mail at [email]blairjohn@bellsouth.net/email]

I went to Wake Forest N.C. on Oct. 19-21 on a job offer and it is about 99.95% a sure thing I will take it. I have to get rid of the car and lots of other goodies ( big screen TV, home theater system, stainless steel side by side fridge, LR suit etc)

I hate to see it that it's up for sale . . . I was looking forward to seeing it back on the show circuit.  :(

You are right, that is one SWEET VW!  I also hate that it's out of my price range, but I do hope you find it a good home somewhere.

Copper Jewel has now been sold to a gentlemen in Austin, Texas. It is sad to see the ride go, but life changes and we have to move on. I know this gentlemen will enjoy the car and is excited about it. I have filled him in on the history of the car and he said he is going to still call it "Copper Jewel". That really makes me proud that he is the buyer. Looks like I will have to change my ID and avatar now!!!

Yes, this is a sad day. :(  :(  :( We didn't get to see that much of you because of your work schedule and now with you moving we will see even less of you. Maybe you can come for the show in the spring. We hope so but it won't be quite the same without "Copper Jewel". :(

I think it will really hit me when we unload the car and drive away. It is hard to believe we have had that car almost 8 years, counting the restoration period. I am happy that I was able to enjoy it this year with the new engine in it. I have driven it to work several times and it got lot of looks. I wish I could have made it to the Chattanooga show more than 1 time, jeeze. But Oh no, I was working. Let's just say that place is behind me and at least at my new job, my boss will actually know what my job entails and can do my job. He will not stand around and look stupid because he has no concept of what it takes to do my job. The most sad part is I CAN do my ex-boss's job!!

Moe, It is sad after having C.J. for 8 years and besides that I never got to gaze at the "Critter" .
Good luck with your new job and "Diggs" and here's hoping you will come down and see us this spring.

 I am sorry that we never got to take that ride to Godfather. Yes I still plan on coming to all the shows I can.  But  David the thing that chaps my rear the reason we missed our chance to get together is I worked  extra time for a company that has no consideration to the employees who are dedicated and hard working. Well it is coming back to them big time right now. We lost one man in Feb with over 8 years experience, and now Im gone and I had 11 years and 11 months with them. They forced, even though they would not admit it, out our plant manager who had almost 40 years experience.

Today I found out the next senior (9+ years)  man got a response from another company and there is a very good chance he will be leaving. The other guy who has been there about 2.5 years  has told them he will be gone very soon. The sad part is they have their heads so far up their rears that they can't see what is going on. So before long they will have one guy who just started about 3 months ago, but does have some experience and they have a production supervisor who is as lost as me doing micro heart surgery.

:(  :( Just got back from delivering the car to the new owner. I have mixed emotions to say the least. The new owner is extremely happy and for that I am happy. Still it is almost like a part of your family being gone. At least I know the new owner will enjoy the car and he says his wife and kids can't wait till they get to ride in the car. He has plans to show the car some and he will keep us updated on how it is going.  :D

congrats on the move and new job!

Sorry you had to let CJ go... but atleast you know the car is still alive and doing well with another family and not burnt up or wrecked or something more tragic
