Keep an eye on the classifieds in the Chattanooga Paper (or browse/search through them online at http://www.timesfreepress.com/Classifieds/classads.html)

There is almost always one or two listed.  Look in both the Import Autos section and the Specialty or Classic Autos sections.

If you use the search feature, run seperate searches for VW, Volkswagen, Volkswagon (you'd be shocked at how many run in the paper this way), Bug, and Beetle.  I even ran across one a couple of years ago listed as a nineteen seventy something "Punch Buggy" . . . and it didn't have any of those other key words anywhere in the add.

If you're looking for a good deal, go look at it the day the ad first comes out.  If it's a bargin, it won't be there in a day or two.

I heard about a guy w/3 VW's for sale from one of the nurses I work with.  She didn't see them because they were covered up.  I just talked with him and he has a 74 (faded blue) and 75 (Red/White stripe) Standard Beetle and a 75 (yellow) Super Beetle.  He didn't really say any prices on anything but the 75 was $700.00.  Has had them for several years and just doesn't have the time to work on them now.  Lockharts had done some engine and transmission work for him.  He also has parts for sale - I think he said 66 and 69 engines.  His name is Charles Payne and his telephone number is 894-4388.  I think he lives off Jersey Pike.  Anyway, thought I'd pass along the info for those looking...
