Got it on a trade,  paint is faded on the hood and roof,  newer tires runs and shifts good,  replaced the o2 sensor and about to replace the maf sensor and throttle body,  should pass emissions after that,  interior is so so,  couple of cig burns,  headliner was replaced but color doesn't match,  I completely removed everything and cleaned it 2500 firm or trade down for something and some cash

What are your thoughts on an '86 diesel golf that needs some TLC???  ;D ;D I would love to have something like this, especially if it were a 5 speed.

Maybe if it was gas,  what's wrong with it?

There is excessive blow by is the main thing. I put new plugs in it last week but it was still not starting. I think its a combo of low compression and the cold/small battery. I drove it up until about the first of december when it got cold and wouldn't start. I'm debating going through the engine or moving it along to someone else. It's a 5 speed but I think the linkage is keeping it from going into 5th (have to push down to get into first, so it seems like its a little off but I have to adjustment tool). I don't know, I just thought I'd throw it out there in case you'd be interested in another project!
