79 Westy for sale - long-lost cousin to Sweet Pea

« on: May 31, 2004, 12:00:49 PM »
This is the bus I rescued from Signal Mountain some months ago.  It is now running and driving and ready for a new home!  A 79 Westfalia showing 12K miles (probably 112K) with a 4-speed and 95% un-molested original green tartan interior.  All it needs is a cover for the small upper bunk piece and front carpet to be 100% (it does have a nice factory front rubber mat)  Sink, ice box, pop-top (needs canvas or just enjoy the breeze) sleeps four (two upstairs, two down) swivel seat, 110V hook-up, closet, cabinets, table.  The exterior is Sage Green with groovy original stripes.  It does have some light surface rust in several places and a few holes around the wheel arches.  Very fixable and actually better than my bus when I got it.  A couple of dings and a dent in the passenger door.  The motor is the one from my bus, a 1700 single-carb with less than 50K.  It has been a great motor!  The trans shifts smoothly and stays in gear without noise or complaint.  Please see the pics below or by clicking on the Volksfolks.com photo gallery, going to the members gallery, and looking at page 2 of "Misty and Anthony's stuff" Drive as-is or restore.  $1200.  e-mail a_henderson17@msn.com Come and get it or it goes on eBay!

Sorry, forgot how to add pictures for a bit there...

Here's the outside-It's been cleaned since then, and the rear bumper's on it now. :)

The interior's nice!  It does have the cover for the spare tire cabinet.

I'm interested in this Westy but I've got to unload my 72 Ford Pickup first. If you sell it before I get a chance to look at it please let us know.

I'm sorry things didn't work out with Charlton, but I had to put it on eBay today.  It's starting at $700, so somebody might get a bargain!  Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot....4185518
