Came across this bug truck yesterday while I was driving from Jasper to Kimball, TN. It was sitting out with a bunch of other cars at a small car lot on the highway. I did a double take as I went by then turned around and went and talked with the guy. Said he'd had it for several years and decided it was time to sell it as he was getting up in age (71) and no time to fool with it anymore. It has a hitch on the back for towing and a hatch in the rear for accessing the engine. There is a TV mounted in the cab where the radio would normally go. It appears to be a early model superbeetle. Not the best of paint jobs (they painted the doorhandles!) and some cracking in the fiberglassing. He's asking $2500 but I got the feeling he was willing to negotiate. Anyway he gave me this picture and I told him I'd post it here for him. His name is Don Crawford - 423-837-3950.

Can't remember for sure if it was there or not. Picture was not taken while I was there. The guy did have several other classic cars like a GTO that was sitting next to the bug, and several others. He was a character though - said if I brought a trailer and loaded them all up he let every one of them go for $2000 a piece. Next time I go to Kimball (sometime this week) I'll drive by and see if he has a Galaxie.
