If anyone is looking for an easy convertible project, here it is!
It has New Blood Orange paint (it's not as red as it looks in the picture . . . it's real close to the color of Lamar and Cindy's 71 Super), new bumpers, trim, and running boards, almost new tires, good brakes, freshly rebuilt 1600 Dual Port, good transaxle.
It needs -- install fender beading and tighten the fender bolts and install the tail lights. It needs new seat covers and carpet, and there is one small crack in the top of the dash, but it's not bad. The driver's side door glass is off the track. The worst part of the whole car is the top . . . it needs a header bow and the bow above the back window, padding, headliner and a new top.
Rust -- there are a couple of VERY small places on the floor pans that could be fixed in very short order with POR-15 and fiberglass (or a mig welder and some small patches if you want to do it "right" ). Other than that, the car is pretty much rust free. It originally came from California and the guy that owns it now bought it from a lady in Nevada. It doesn't look like it's ever been hit.
The guy that owns it started to fix it up for a daily driver, but he's a truck driver and has been running to the west coast a lot and hasn't had to time to work on it for the past 6 months. He dropped by the house today and said he'd probably never have time to finish it up and asked it I could help him find it a new home. Overall it's about as solid and straight as convertibles in this area come. It would make an excellent project for someone . . . I would buy it in a heartbeat if I had the money! His price is under $3500 and somewhat negotiable.
