This, by the way, is not the same '68 that I mentioned at the meeting Monday.  For those who didn't make it, that one was red and had most of the interior out.  According to the owner, it ran the last time they started it.  VERY solid body, and IMHO, a good project.  $1000/offer.  I can dig up his #, if someone needs it.  Car is b/w Fort O and I-75 on 2-A.  Maybe get both, mix and match, cruise!

I saw a green Ghia sedan sitting at the Golden Gallon in Rock Springs a couple of weeks ago.  I bet it's the same one.  Rock Springs is not that big and I've never seen another Ghia there.

I saw one today in Rock Springs on Long Hollow Road . . . it's gotta be the same one.  There wasn't anyone home but I looked it over and here's my opinion of it's condition:

Lot's of little dents and dings . . . One simi-major dent in the right rear quarter in front of the wheel well.  Paint is dark green and faded/weathered and has several small patches of body filler and/or gray primer scattered over the car.  There appeared to be some bondo in the left rear quarter just in front of the wheel well that appeared to be cracking underneath the paint.  On the plus side, the ONLY rust I saw on the car was a small patch underneath the driver's door on the rocker.  EVERYTHING else on the car seemed to be pretty much rust free.  Pans were not undercoated and I couldn't seen any significant surface rust on them anywhere.  I opened the driver's door and it dropped slightly (worn hinge . . . pretty common on Ghias)  I'd say that all the door and window rubber needs to be replaced.  No door pannels . . . but on the plus side there, I didn't see any rust inside the doors.

Bottom line is that it's pretty rough looking and about as ugly a Ghia as I've seen lately, but it has a lot of potential.  If someone could do their own body, paint, and interior work it probably wouldn't take much in the way of parts to make a very nice driver.

Anthony and I have seen that Ghia too on the way to my parents house in Rock Spring.  We have seen it in the driveway, and out driving on the road.  If I'm not mistaken, they have a Baja at their house also.  If that's not it, then there are 2 green ghias in Rock Spring on Long Hollow road.  What are the possibilities???  ;)
