1974 Super Beetle For Sale

« on: May 01, 2011, 02:19:25 PM »
I have a 1974 Super Beetle for sale and thought I would reach out to the VW clubs in the area to find an enthusiast looking for a good car. Below is the info. I have better pics if anyone is interested. I appreciate your time.

1974 VW Super Beetle

$4000 firm

NO TRADES PLEASE

This car was well taken care of when I bought it. Since then, I have had the body completely stripped, all dents and dings repaired, and a 2003 Mercedes Copper color painted on it by Patterson's Body shop in Smyrna. Here is a list of the things I have done to the car:

- New distributor
- New Coil
- Pertronix electronic ignition to replace points
- New spark plugs and wires
- New tires
- Top Line Auto brand adjustable struts in front
- Urethane bushings in front end to prevent the dreaded shimmy
- Pop-out vintage style rear quarter windows
- New carpet
- New seat covering (Vintage ribbed vinyl style)
- New door panel covering (matches seats)
- New chrome bumpers
- New seals for all glass and body parts
- Fuel tank cleaned and sealed
- Fuel line replaced
- New belt
- K&N air filter (still have the factory one)
- Short-throw shift kit (Still have the factory shifter as well)
- Carpeted dash cover
- New speedometer cable
- Front disc brake conversion by Top Line Auto (The car stops instead of grinds on the old factory brake drums)
- New Throttle and Clutch cables

Im sure there are a few things I have forgotten, but you get the idea. I basically reworked the entire car as my hobby / project for a few years. I would trust this car to go anywhere. It has been my pride and joy for a few years but it is time to move on. Here are the things it needs to make it pristine.

- Headliner has a few small tears in it but still looks good (It is white and the rest of the interior is black so it should probably be replaced)
- The carpet needs to be installed in the trunk and behind the rear seat. (I have the carpet kit for both.)
- The windshield washer pump in these cars ran off of pressure from the spare tire. I have the electric washer fluid pump kit but haven't installed it yet.

This would be a great car for an enthusiast or anyone just wanting a very cool car that will turn many heads!
