Hey everyone,

I'm new to the Volksfolks scene. I am not to the VW world and I am in a bind and way behind. I have a AWESOME offer for a club member or someone you may know.
I hate to do it, but my 1971 Std Bug and has very great potential for being a great asset to one's collection or a daily driver, and/or a fipper/parts car if needed.

I work in Harrison at a auto body shop, which is where she resides. Body is just sitting on a fresh chassis. The right side floor pan was replaced and left is in excellent shape. Front beam is real good and I installed new German ball joints, new shocks, front and rear disc brakes, lowered 1.5" spindles, and Porsche 5x130 lug pattern with a set of knock-off Fuch's. Interior is Brand New Custom SewFine velour/weave. New rubber for the whole car from Wolfsburg West. Body is excellent, except the heater channels, cross-members, and luggage tray. I have and was planning to install the heater channels, cross-members, and make a trap door for the luggage tray. That is the extent of rust in this car. Originally a Florida car with lots of potential. I have a good 1600 dual port to move it. This car comes with a lot of extra pieces as well. Again, I have 99 percent of everything to put her back together. Many new parts. Any questions, please ask. Due to my computer match with this site, my lack of knowledge, and the photo capacity I am photoless. I have many photo's available and can email a zip file or pdf to anyone interested. If you wish to see in person, just contact me. I have pix on Samba or Craigs.

I have all reciept's on everything and invite any reasonable offer. No trades, as I need to finish my TDI Golf. No more projects, at the moment. Clean title. Asking $1 OBO. I have a lot invested and she needs a home and some TLC. Please help if you can.

You can reach me via here, The Samba as "vmekdubyu" or email "djemekx@gmail.com, and vocals or text @ 301-seven88-1051. If interested and want to see it and pix, LMK.

You make an offer and les du dis....=))

Many thanks and cheers,

I know I'm new to this club and forum, but this car must interest someone?
I have a dollar posted to make a point and that is I can never get what I have in this car out.
I have been offered $1500. This offer may come to fruition and that is that. If someone gave $2000 for this basket package and had the means to finish her, they could be very happy.
Does anyone know somebody wanting a project?

Anyone?????

I think a lot of folks are just plain scared to turn loose of any funds due to the wonderful way our country is being destroyed by you know who. Well, at least you sold your car. I can't give mine away.

Looked at it long and hard, but the fact is I didn't really want to separate a body from the pan and do all the welding that you indicated it needed.
RBT is right about the $'s and the economy though, if people are patient good running beetles do pop up from time to time that are cheaper (I didn't say better) than the one you had for sale.
Timing was also wrong.  Those of us who buy to drive and flip need to have our projects completed and ready to sell just prior to school starting (3 weeks) or we are likely to be stuck with them until the spring.
Just wanted to give you my take on why I think it didn't sell.
Plus the fact I'm cheap!  ;D

You are so right KC. Timing ranks way up there. I know how I got 180 degrees out of phase with this problem . I just don't get "out there " anymore.  Have all the fun you can now while you are still vertical and your body still functions.

You have to remember,   This is a small group of local enthusiasts,  I post cars here a lot and don't get interest and I have been in the club for years,  your best bet is Craigslist and samba.

Yeah I understand the timing thing. It was just some mere fishin' I felt I should try and get to know some more air cooled junkies as well.
I don't know how I am going to exist without push rod tubes and valve adjustments in my life.  :(
Cool thing is I should hook up with ya'll at the Sonic meet next week and your right, I did sell her. Kind of kept her close. I get to weld the channels and cross-members in for the new owner. Working on them is just as fun to me, as owning them. ;D
Even cooler is now I can finish my 2000 TDI 6spd transplant.  :o
I guess my air cooled appetite can be held in check with chain saws, weed eaters, mowers, and this old Police bike I got.
Thanks for the concern and clarity. Maybe see you Friday.....

Cheers

If you get to missing working on air-cooled stuff too much, I can hook you up with plenty of stuff to wrench on!   ;D   And we love water-cooled VWs too!  I'm looking forward to seeing your TDI.   :scvf:

That sounds like a deal.

I should be getting some pix together for her very soon. I will get my head back next week and it's off to the assembly.
