1970 VW Bug

« on: April 19, 2010, 11:27:09 AM »
1970 Beetle with completely new chassis including floorpans, heater channels, brakes, brake lines, bearings, seals, ball joints, tie rod ends, tires, new paint on chassis....name it and it has been replaced. The car has had about 300-400 miles on it since completed. It has a 6" narrowed beam (suspension) with adjusters and 2 1/2" dropped spindles. It has new carpet with Dynamat (sound deadner) underneath. Runs and shifts great. Has a 1600 CC single port engine with 4 speed transmission. Carburetor completely rebuilt. I have a folder full of paperwork from the original owner along with the owner's manual and warranty card. Trades welcome but would prefer a Jeep Cherokee or something like that. Call J.R. at 779-7927 or just email.  $3800.00

Whats the matter ?  Was that Bug over your head or was it because the engine was in the wrong place. My little Girl has a Cherokee with over 200 Thousand miles that she would gladly trade you. Of course it has a totally, destroyed, crapped out Engine ,but that would be easy for you to fix. You can't sweat the small stuff Right ? ;D ;D ;D ;)

I was excited as hell building it but once done, it just didn't "do it" for me.  It's hard to explain.  I took the Titan off roading yesterday and Rachel and I fell in love with a new hobby.  She doesn't care for the bug and Jackson is crammed in the rear in his car seat.  Just want something that the whole family will enjoy, not just me.

They make a 4 seater rail buggy.  You could keep the great engine that you have and get someone to make or you buy a frame to put it on.  Kinda Mad MAX for the family.

Or just get a Bus, it'll seat 7 and you could go off and camp with it.  (Westies only seat 4 or 5 depending on the year...)
I hear ya on the Safety seats in the back. it is tight for 4 people in a beetle.
I cannot believe that it used to be some families primary car....

I hope that you do not leave VW land.
