1970 Beetle Convertible

« on: November 01, 2006, 12:07:18 AM »
I'm posting this one for an old friend of mine.
She's selling her '70 Beetle 'vert.  The car isn't driven much anymore and she doesn't like seeing it sitting.  Here's what I can tell you:
Exterior: white
Interior/top:  black
engine:  1600 single port
upholstery was redone a couple of years ago with TMI covers from Motorworks, floor pans have been replaced.
The car is a nice driver and the asking price is $5500.00
Feel free to post any questions here on the forum, or you can email her directly.  Her email is:  EmilyBreeding@mindspring.com

A little note about this one:
The car was bought for her before she got her license.  Her dad restored the car and it was driven by her throughout high school and undergrad school.  She sold the car when she went off to graduate school to an individual in Soddy Daisy.  The car was later put up for sale, and, recognizing it sitting on the side of the road with a for sale sign in the window, I bought the car and used it as a driver for a while.  Eventually, with too many cars in the driveway, I decided to sell the car...back to our old friend who now has decided to sell the car.  She now has a New Beetle convertible, and I think she's just grown used to a newer ride.  She wants to sell the car to someone who will take care of it and isn't interested in any trades/ etc.
The only detractors from the car that she/ I can recall are it does still have some rust in the rocker/ bottom end area (floorpans already replaced) and the top assembly has pulled loose from the body at the hinge point on the driver's side.  Also, One of the front windows doesn't quite meet at the top where it contacts the roof frame.  Overall, the car is pretty nice as a driver, and I can say that I loved driving it when I owned it.  I hope it finds a good home.
