1969 Kombi

« on: July 15, 2008, 12:36:05 PM »
Up for sale is my 1969 Kombi Bus.....
The low-down:
Originally Neptune Blue paint
Still has original hard board panels
Still has original silver beige painted interior
Mostly straight body with some minor dent stuff right front corner near headlamp and low down on pass side
Has both center and rear bench seats (center is 1/3 - 2/3 split)
Running driving bus with recent brakes
transmission shifts smooth all forward gears, noisy reverse, but does not pop out of gear.
I currently have a 1600 single port in her with a lot of very pricey NOS stuff on it.
Ideally what I'd like to do is keep the motor and sell the rest as a rolling shell.
This bus is VERY restorable, needs only minor body repair/paint, and new seat covers and short headliner over the forward cab area, with solid, shiny front floorboards and 99% paint in passenger / load area.  NO floor rot present., and only minor pinholing in the outer rockers (inner/supports are all very solid.
The bus is currently at my work (Village VW) and I need ot sell it for funds to buy sheet metal for the new toy.
Would like $1800 for the bus, $2900 if buying as is, but taking offers because I need it gone.
Help me out bus lovers, tell your friends, 'cause if I don't sell it, you'll really hate me after I part it out and cut up the carcass........

Why is it 1800 or 2900 as is.  is 1800 with no motor? or 1800 with a motor,  or is either price more nickels than I have.  Or maybe I do have 1800/5 nickels.  I yam what I yam.   SC

NIckels or nickles,  they both look right.   Spell check me

Well, I thought it was clear enough......
$1800 without an engine, $2900 with an engine

The only thing I want to trade right now is money for a bus.

I need funding for the resto of the double cab I procured from Scott.
...........a lot of funding.

I feel your pain.  This bus is actually a very nice, solid bus....that I can't stress enough.  It would make a very easy restoration project.  I just have to let one go so I can finish the new toy.

Not a bad idea, I'll probably bring it up and park it in the front yard for the yard sale thing this weekend.

Rick's old bus just keeps turning up, last I had heard it was sold to a guy in Ringgold, but recently my samba spies informed me it's sitting for sale on Tremont St. in Chattanooga. Very curious indeed.

hopefully somebody will enjoy her.
