1960 Split window bus panel van 300.-

« on: May 22, 2011, 09:47:55 PM »
I was going to take a look at a splitwindow listet at the samba... as soon as i got to the place i recieved a text "sorry just sold it"  >:(!!!

well, i went there, since i drove an hour and he had this one left. Its ... well... it was a 60 panel van. he said he has mostly all of the parts, what i strongly doubt. anyways, he brings it to chattanooga if i want it, so i will probably bring it arround. he said i could have it for 300.- i would have bought it in germany, but over here it doesnt make any sence at all... :D

anybody??

Yikes....

That's a lot of needed metal replacement....  and very expensive on a bus.  The price to get in it is cheap enough, but it's gonna cost a small fortune just to come up with the metal.  And, a lot of time as well to get it right.  I built one like that.  Never again.

Good point.

I have done the total all-out rebuilds... I like to take it a bit easier now.  The Westy is about as rough as I would want anymore.

although the surrent project was not so complete, i had most of the stuff needed to get it going and the price was right.  no reason to buy a 300 dollar pile of rust and spend 2 years trying to piece it together when you could get one closer to road ready
