1958 Ragtop Beetle with plaid interior Cal-Look

« on: June 15, 2012, 08:47:04 AM »

Priced for a quick sale. This car could not be built for the price I am asking, but due to a new baby we have decided we won't have much time to enjoy this 58 right now. Please no low ball offers. We are not forced to sell the car, but I hate to see it sit in the garage not being used. Partial trades are welcome, but will have to have some cash as well. Also the car is available without the BRMs, but the buyer will have to have a set of wheels to get the car home. (unless car is delivered and we can remove the wheels once at the new owners location)
Here are the details:
Completely restored 58 ragtop beetle. Quality parts used throughout, mainly from Wolfsburg West. VW Fjord blue paint with blue accents (fender beading, running boards, and Canvas ragtop). VW westphalia plaid material used for the seats and door panels all custom stitched. Sewfine salt and pepper carpet kit w/matching mats up front. Wolfsburg West cloth headliner. Rare VDO 150mph speedo, Lecarra steering wheel wrapped with grey leather. All new seals throughout, stainless trim on exterior, (T-bars have been removed and car currently has no bumpers. I do have the original bumper brackets that have been refinished, but do not have bumpers). CB performance 2" narrowed front beam with CB dropped spindles and wide 5 disc brake kit all from CB Performance (stops great). Stock crash box transmission that does leak a little, but shifts great. 40hp rebuilt motor detailed with powdercoated tin and 12V alternator. Runs really strong for a 40 horse. New wiring harness from WW front to rear. Very beautiful car that was built as a keeper, but new baby changes priorites. Only thing the car needs is the wiper motor installed with new hardware along with bumpers. I have a new motor to convert to 12V, just haven't installed. The wheels on the car are real Flat 4 BRMs with Nankang tires, 135s and 165s. Asking $9,800 obo with the BRMs. Very nice pan off restoration for an excellent price (could not be built for asking price). Runs and drives great. Very low miles since restoration. Would consider partial trade (plus cash) on split window bus or 67-earlier beetle, Notchback, or Ghia (projects are welcome as long as they are not rusted out). Also would consider partial trade on 91-92 Montana Green GTi. Let me know what you have you never know. This is a very clean car that receives a ton of compliments, we just do not have the time for it currently.
