1954 Oval Window Beetle for $1500

« on: October 23, 2009, 12:06:38 PM »
54 Oval Window, semiphore beetle for sale. This is a project car in need of restoration, but will make a really nice Oval once completed. Body needs some lower repairs and body work. Very solid car otherwise. Pans are in nice shape with previous repair in the rear. Car has crash box tranny and 36hp motor. Motor will crank and start with pouring fuel in carb, but fuel tank is not hooked up. W decklid is almost beyond repair and will need a rear apron. I have the headlights, semiphores, and non-heart taillights. All seats are in the car. Missing some items like door handles, tailight mounts, interior odds and ends and rear oval glass. Again this is a project and it is a 54, so it does have some rust, but not horrible. Selling for $1500 FIRM.  Would consider taking less if somebody has a set of Dellortos or IDAs to throw in with some cash.  Building a shop and could use the cash to finish. Car is located in Sparta TN. Car will come with bill of sale only.

Would take less money if some Dellorto Carbs were thrown in on partial trade.  Looking for a set of 45s or 48s.  Or IDAs?  Let me know what you have and we can work on the price.

How do semiPHors work?  With little wires or some kind of lever in the dash,  or are they hooked to a blinker arm on the column?
