*SOLD*1967 Westy bus

« on: March 25, 2010, 06:42:52 PM »
Up for sale is a 1967 Westy Bus with clean title. Nice bus to restore, but definitly a project. Rusty on the bottom side with some frame rust as well, but nothing that can not be repaired. Some lower nose damage, but should be repairable without replacing. I have over $800 worth of new sheet metal ready to be installed on the bus all bought from Wolfsburg West. New floors for the cargo area are just placed in for transport, not installed. Will need lower body panels and other the other usual rust repair. I believe most of the interior is with the bus, has sink, seats, table, etc. A very artistic hippie owned this bus at one time. The paintings will blow your mind!! This art work alone is worth what I'm asking for the bus...ha. Bus will come with the engine that was with the bus when I purchased, which is a single port that spins and seams to have compression, but I have not tried to run. It is complete other than the exhaust. There is a decklid, but no apron or rear bumper. If you wanted to get into a bus, this is a good price. I hate to sell, but I am not finished with my shop and I would like to finish before starting any more projects. Asking $1600.00 obo. Again, I have over $800 in new sheet metal. May be interested in a set of dual Dellorto carbs or Gene Berg parts for partial trade, or a set of Porsche Rims. Would also consider a real Meyers Manx buggy body, but must be the real thing.  Thank you for viewing my ad.  I do have additional photos if serious.  Also have a 73 Super Beetle with almost zero rust for sale @ $800 obo, but no title to it.  Email if interested at matt_tylka@hotmail.com.

UPDATE: The single port motor cranked over with pouring fuel down the carb, but it will definitly need a tune up and carb rebuild.  I didn't want to try and run it long due to not having an exhaust. I just let it start up for a couple of seconds to see if it would crank.  I will be bringing the bus to the show in Chattanooga this weekend if anybody is interested in purchasing.  Bring a set of dellorto dual throat carbs and get a better deal.   : ) See you at the show.
