'94 Jetta- $1900

« on: March 01, 2004, 12:04:11 PM »
I have a 1994 VW Jetta for sale in Knoxville. I'm only asking $1900 for it because it needs a new Idle Speed control valve, and a potentiometer. (The potentiometer I have, it just needs to be installed.) Also, the radio needs to have the code put in it for it to work again, which can be obtained from your friendly neighborhood VW dealer. I disconnected the battery, which is why the security code needs to be put in. Also, you will have to keep your foot on the accelerator and keep it in the 10x RPM range so she won't cut off. (The Idle speed control valve and potentiometer will solvce this problem.)
I have a title loan against it at Car Credit. (please don't laugh), so you will need to go with me to Car Credit to get the title. The payoff is $1200, with the remainder going to refurbish my bug. If you are interested in a good Jetta which requires minor work to be a GREAT car, just let me know.
I'm posting it here because I would rather my Club members have a crack at it first.

Can you lay some features on me? (color, mileage, accessories, transmission, etc.)

The last time I looked, the mileage was around 180,000 or so, but I could be wrong. It's maroon with an automatic transmission. When I bought it, it didn't have the VW wheel covers on it, so I put some decent-looking covers on. The tires are somewhat new, you wouldn't need new ones for a while. The A/C does work, as well as the heat. (I kinda got spoiled on that A/C, and realize that fact now that I'm driving my bug again, LOL.) The rear defrost (again- I got spoiled) works, also. Oh, yeah, the little latch on the glove box broke off about a month ago, and is easily accesed by using a key to open the glove box. The part is about fourteen dollars. As far as I know, the only other thing wrong with it is, like I said, the idle speed control valve and potentiometer.

I neglected to mention that my fellow club members are more than welcome to make me an offer on this Jetta. :)

I have decided to reduce the price to $1650. Any takers?
