Sorry for the late reply ... I never get on the 'puter much during the w/e's.

Yes ... this probably is the same one you've seen driving around Cleveland.  I'll try to get pics on soon if you're interested.

I'll try to shoot a couple of pics tonite if its not still raining.

I had a coolant hose burst on it and the engine got too hot.  I replaced all the hoses and then cranked it back up.  Everything is fine until the engine begins to warm and then the trouble starts.  The temp will rapidly continue to climb and then the Batman smoke screen begins coming from the exhaust.  I've had two different people tell me that it is most likely a crack in either the block or the head.  I had the same thing happen to a Scirocco years ago.

I'd like to keep the car, but it was bought as a commuter (I figured if I was gonna get a gas-saver it may as well be a FUN gas-saver, right?) and in its current state it's not really saving me anything.  For someone with wrench-turning abilities, it would be a great deal.  Me?  I just wanna get back and forth to work without spending a fortune on gas since I live in Cleve and work in Chatt.  My mechanical abilities aren't the best and I just don't have the time or patience to correct the problem.  I really just want it gone ... ideally to someone who can really appreciate the car and get it back on the road.

If it was on the side of APD40 a few weeks ago ... yep, that was it.  I had just picked it up from having the new master cylinder installed and was coming up 75 when it began getting hot.  I pulled over on the by-pass and sat with it waiting for it to cool.  There was a coolant hose on the bottom that split about one inch and coolant had blown completely out.

I'll shoot pics tonite and try to post them tomorrow.

BTW ... if it really is a head, got any idea how much it would be to replace?

Thanks for the offer brokeveedubs ... but no thanks.  I am a Scirocco fan, but just need to clean out the driveway at this point.  A replacement commuter has already been purchased, so this G60 needs to go ASAP.

After this Thursday, I'll be out of town until the 29th and might not be able to check-in for activity.  Somebody make me an offer on this thing.

Thanks
