Wienie Roast

« on: October 28, 2004, 12:59:45 PM »
Anyone interested in getting together for a wienie roast somewhere this Saturday evening? Fall leaves give me a hankering for sticking a dog and some marshmallows on a stick (not together!) and roasting them over a fire! Don't know where we could have it but thought I'd throw that idea out there and see if there was any interest.

How about this Saturday (the 30th) at about 6ish? I don't know where though. Does anyone have any ideas? We'd also need some wood for the fire. Or is Halloween going to interfere with Saturday?

I had forgot about Halloween. This probably wouldn't be a good weekend to get together. I know the Hendersons wouldn't be able to attend because of the area little t**ds who live in their neighbor hood and like to throw eggs at anything and everything. (How can these punks afford eggs? Oh I forgot, they steal them.)

Anyway, the weiner roast is a good idea but just a bad weekend. :(

We'll be having hot dawgs next weekend at the planning meeting though if that helps :D

Is the 'planning meeting' a private affair?
I keep watching for new events, but is this is a business type o' thing or a weiner roast?

How are these nicknames categorized? Just how does one shake being known as a "lurker"?  :-k
I'm thinking I need to bring binoculars and a black trench coat to the meeting.
Is it according to the number of posts or length of membership?
Just curious.

The 'planning meeting' is a club get-together to work on details for our next show.  It is a "business type o' thing" but we rarely get together where we don't have fun (and food), regardless of what kind of meeting it is.

Bug-A-Paluza 7 will be held at Camp Jordan in East Ridge in April of '05 . . . it sounds like a long time away, but as those of us who've been doing this for the past few years can assure you, it'll sneak up on you!  There are lots of details to work out, and lots of work to do between now and April.  The meeting is opened to anyone willing to work.  The job doesn't pay much.  Well, it doesn't pay anything.  In fact, if you do the math it usually ends up costing each of us just a little.  So, why do we do it?  It's a lot of work, but when it's all said and done we have a lot of fun.  If you want to get involved, you're offically invited!  We have never turned away help.

If you would like to attend Candace and "get involved" you will be welcomed with open arms. Let me know if you want to come and I will give you directions to our place. :D

That will give you an opportunity to view first hand the Volks Folks and decide if you want to join forces with us. =D>

It's based on the number of posts you've made...I think there's 8 or so different ranks, and no one has made it as high as Zen yet.

I predict you'll make it out of "lurker" status in about 10 more posts or so.

Candace, You only need a trench coat , dark sun glasses if you drive a "clapped out" Hyundai .  But who knows. They let me show up in a old Volvo wagon, but at least its Nordic and there is a future KdF bug that took up residence in my back yard. I think you are safe to approach. The secret pass word is : shhhh, volkswagen
