VWs in the Pocket

« on: April 03, 2006, 04:54:04 PM »
Join the fun at the 2nd annual VW's in The Pocket Camp-out held in conjunction with John's Creek Rescue and Recycle hosted by the South East Vintage Volkswagen Association

Come and camp in The Pocket, a  beautiful valley that's rich with history with the scenic John's Creek running through it.  SEVVA will be hosting a VW's in The Pocket Camp-out at The Pocket campground on November 3-5. Drive  your VW in and  camp in The Pocket.  On Saturday, the 4th of  November,   SEVVA will be joining with other volunteers for a river's edge clean-up and recycle event to help protect the serenity and beauty of John's Creek.   Meet at 9am at the Pocket ranger's/check-in station.  Note: Attending the camp-out does not require you to attend the clean-up, this is a volunteer based clean-up. There will be a cook-out at the campground afterwards.  Everyone had a wonderful time last year and the camping is pristine!

Do they have Electric hook ups there and do they let campers join in on the fun. I just got myself a Branused pop-up camper. I've got to have my A/C to sleep.

Yeah, what Kyle said.  If you want AC, all you'll have to do is open a window.

You can't ever tell what it's going to do now. Last year I was sweating while taking the kids trick or treaking.

I've been there a few times, but it's been at least 20 years since the last time I was there.  I don't think they had electricity back then, but a lot can change in that length of time.

Good directions on Zen's link. It's between LaFayette and Calhoun. I've got it on my calendar!

The Pocket campgrounf has full hookups, and there is a fee for camping. Of course you can also camp along the creek oe go to the much forgotten Hidden Creek camp just down the street )my personal fav for free.  I'm looking forward to meeting you all there and presenting Betsy and the reat of the family.  See you there.
