I counted 82 parked just prior to the start.
I was with Russ, and we were both surprised.

Cool Breeze VW Club had 10 air cooled cars there. We wished we could have had more. But we have members out of town or working and not able to make it.
It was a nice event although the news channels only focused on the road and the mayor and very little on the cars.
I only wished they had a little more coverage on the cars because that's what it's all about.. Not the road, not the plant.. But the love of old VW cars. At least to me. I'm sure to the public it's the money and the road.

We have some photo's of the event posted on our forum and myspace profile if you'd like to see them.

Don't worry Thump, the people that needed to see us did, and they were most impressed. I talked with Mr. Frank Fischer, CEO of the new plant, and he had nothing but praise for all the cars that were there. He wants to work with us for the plant opening and BAP13.
A big thanks to our Cleveland buds and to the non-club members for making this event a hit. If your not a member of a Club in your town, you need to be so you can be an official part of history.

If you made it to the parade, you can now order a print of the "I Was There" sign. Visit http://www.volksfolks.org/vwparade for details.
