Taccoa anyone???

:(   I've got to leave here take Joy to the airport in Chattanooga at 11:00 AM Sunday . . . I'll be leaving the airport about noon.  Even though he is the "Superbus" I don't think there's any way Homer can make it to Taccoa before the show is over.  Seems like I've been saying this a lot this show season, but there's always next year.

Well we wimped out too.  Although we were only an hour away from the show this morning we decided we had better ideas of how to spend the time and money it would take to get us there and back home tonight.  That's our excuse and we're stickin to it.  :)

Y'all didn't miss much.  There were about, oh...I don't know...maybe 30 or so parts vendors.  Their stuff ranged from new to very used.  Heck, there was this one old man who had nothing much...except some NOS parts, old bus ladder, VW roofracks, some VW shop manuals and other hard-to-find items.

I didn't find much, only some VW of Brazil bus mudflaps with brackets, some vintage in-line seat belt tensioners (1964 date on packaging), a 2.0 liter cam with matching lifters, a good-but-used interior light, a Mahle bus oil filter (new, $3), new bus wiper arms, new Bosch blue coil, and various routine maintenance items (all in total, about $150).

Lamar found a good roof rack at the Birmingham show.  He wasn't really looking for any parts right now.  The thought of the 3-4 hour drive back home wasn't very appealing to us yesterday.   :)

No skin off my back.  Several people were asking if any more Volks Folks were going to show up and I could honestly tell them that I had no idea.  I didn't even have to make up excuses for anyone!

I showed up about 10:30 pretty good turn out. But not as big as past shows, lots of cool cars there. And I never seem to remember to bring a camera. Dang it..   I picked up a few things myself.  There seemed to be alot more people camping than prior years.. It was a good day for a show.              67bugnut you had a roof rack last time I seen you car.

I know but it's a repop. You know how it is..gotta have the real deal. Funny repops cost more than a good old one.

i've never really been in to this "show" just the swap... which didnt let me down again.... hough I couldnt top myself with the collapsable tool box    i got:

Collapsable tool box: $30
VW emergency triangle and case, 4 vw books including two bentleys with color diagrams: $60
seat belt hangers: $9
zoom tube: $5
those same inline seat belt tensioners: $10
westy roof rack seal: $20
splitty doors (dont ask): $free
4 h4 headlamps: $50

i think that's all i got... had a great time :) and learned that corks pop out when the bottle heats up

the ride back through the mountains was quite enjoyable... i wish i had some clue as to where we were at... but at night it just looked like walls of rock beside us... pretty neat though!

good to meet some new faces and see old friends!

VWGIRL,   I mean't to talk to ya and introduce myself. But I was helping my buddy sell some stuff. And didn't leave the tent very often. But next time I will for sure.  Always cool to read your threads and any woman that travels to as many shows as you has to be cool to talk to..    Next time I will make time and speak..
