This is only about an hour outside of Chattanooga.  The city had plans to improve the "camping area" by adding some electrical outlets over in the wooded area.  It was hot, but had a blast there last year! 8)

Pack a small window A/C unit in with your camping gear . . . the only complaint I had about last year was it was HOT in the middle of the day.  Now that they have power, I'm ready.  This year if I get too hot, I'll head over and hang out in Homer a while . . . he'll be "chill'n"

Hey everybody...I talked to Ted this morning and this is going to be a cool event. They are planning some different stuff that sounds like fun. Fri night the city of Stephenson is supposed to bring out a monster grill and do the hot dog thing for all the campers to go along with the live music they have that night. On Sat, there will be a 20 mile cruise around Stephenson through some scenic areas and it will culminate at the Depot days parade. The Vws will actually have some time downtown and I will be on the stage during the parade giving Vw highlights as the Vws are there.....sounds like a good time, so you might want to consider it

I'm going to be there selling some wares.  I had already been setting up a small AC unit for my front window of my camper before you posted about how to keep it cool, Zen.  I remembered how hot it was last year.

Ted came up last night to Sonic and said that the new poles are in place.  He also mentioned an idea of keeping cool with a unit from Walmart that uses ice to cool an area.  I think he said it cost about $40.00 and would work great in a tent.  One problem I thought of was keeping a supply of ice going in to keep it cooling.   :)

Who is planning on going to Stevenson this weekend? What time/day are you leaving? Maybe we can get a caravan going down there?

A bunch of us decided tonight to meet up at the Cracker Barrel at the 2nd Tiftonia Exit at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning if you want to eat breakfast and plan to leave about 9:00 a.m. to head on down.   :)
