southernVolksFest2003 - Water Cooled VW Show

Some of you all have been asking about the water cooled VW show comming up on April 12, so here is the info.  The show will be at Andretti Speed Lab in Roswell, GA.  A group of us will probably carvan down to the show.  We met up in Dalton last year and that seemed to work out great.

For all of the show info check out:  http://www.southernvolks.com/

Hehe, I just noticed that Kim and Shasta are in the 2nd pic at the top of the collage, but anyway:

The show is less than a week away!  How about we meet up Saturday morning to cruise down to the show.  It is about and hour and a half drive, so bring your FRS radios and a big smile. :D How about we will meet up off I-75 exit 333 in the Tanger Outlet Center parking lot.  Once you exit 1-75 head toward Dalton, GA: east (not up the mountain).  Turn right at the first light next to the McDonalds.  Tanger Outlet Center is about 1 bock up on the left.  I would like to pull out at 7:15 cause I have show duties that I must attend to, but by all means if you can cruise down with us, try and make it to the show!  For those of you that would like to show your car here is a listing of the show classes (yes there is a aircooled class!):

A. A1 Rabbit/Jetta/Cabriolet/Pickup (1,2)
B. A2 Golf/Jetta (1,2)
C. A3 Golf/Cabrio (1,2)
D. A3 Jetta (1,2)
E. A4 Golf (1,2)
F. A4 Jetta (1,2)
G. New Beetle (1,2)
H. Scirocco (1,2)
I. Corrado (1,2)
J. Passat (1,2)
K. Audi - All (1,2)
L. Aircooled (1,2)
M. Other - German (1,2)
N. Unfinished Project (1)

I have to work during the day, and Anthony has the Bob torn apart putting in the air-conditioning/new hidden speakers/installing door panels without speaker holes, so we might not have any spare time until that night, then we will go help with the trophies if we can.

Wish we could make it though.  It would be nice to enjoy someone else's show before we have to do it! :p

Have fun!!!

Hey Jai, I've been intending to respond to this but I regret to say I don't think I will be able to make this one. We've still got a lot to do in preparing for our show BUT, I do want to encourage any and all Volks Folks members who can to go to this show. From what I'm hearing, it will be a good one.

I'll be there in spirit if not in body. Does that count?

Lamar and Cindy came by yesterday afternoon and told us it was a great show. I'm sorry we weren't able to make it but maybe next year.
Eric, I'm glad you were able to make it and have a judging experience and I'm also glad to see you've got your computer back up and running.
Somebody gove us a rundown on what won and how many trophies Jai won.

Did they attract many air-coolers?

There will have to be 2 caravans then,  air cooled wouldn't be able to keep up with Jai.  It was the fastest caravan i've been apart of, and even faster back, but it was only 2 new beetle's in the caravan coming back. fun times!!

Homer can keep up with a water-cooled caravan . . . at least until internal engine parts decide they want to see daylight!   :D

It was a fast caravan down! Cindy looked over at the speedometer on the way down and said, "Are you going 90 mph?"

I had a great time, but was so busy with show stuff that I didnt' get to chat with people much.  I didn't show my car, so no trophies for me. :)  As far as the caravan goes, Freaky looks like a racecar soo..... oh well, just tell me to slow down next time.
