SCCA autocross - Sunday in Atlanta

« on: March 08, 2002, 02:29:49 PM »
This was posted on the Southeastern VW Forum and I though I'd pass it along just in case anyone is interested:

Hey, it's drag racing with corners!
If you're in the Atlanta area, come on down to Turner Field this Sunday for the SCCA autocross.

There are over 30 classes for everything from street stock cars to karts to race cars hauled in on trailers.

Here's the course we'll be running...

Let's see some of that air-cooled power out there. I'll have the two-tone Karmann Ghia... primer from the windshield forward and red from there back.

Everybody usually gets 3 to 4 runs at about 50 to 60 seconds each... wide-open, x000 rpm blasts of adrenaline that are more fun than Six Flags!

Sunday!

I-75/85 @ I-20!

Fans, be there!

And if you like that, the SCCA has a Chattanooga chapter that will be autocrossing the first Sunday in April at the old Sam's Club lot.  We just did one on the third of March, but I had a gig and couldn't race :mecry: .
If anyone needs mo' info, just let me know.  There are classes for any VW car!  The Golfs are especially competitive in their class.
