Ringgold Christmas Parade

« on: November 21, 2011, 10:41:38 PM »
The Volks Folks will once again participate in the Ringgold Down Home Christmas parade, on Friday, December 2nd. The line-up is at 5 PM behind the Ringgold High School and the parade will begin at 6:00 PM. You may decorate your car with lights and Christmas decorations.

After the parade, we will meet up at the new Ringgold McDonald's on Alabama Highway around 7:30 or 8 for our monthly cruise-in.

I didn't make the Ringgold parade the last two years due to work, but I plan on being there with Homer the Superbus this time.  I didn't think about it at the meeting Monday night, but we usually meet up somewhere before the parade and try to drive over in a group . . . otherwise, we get scattered.  Do we want to do that this year?

We have usually met up in the Ingles parking lot, it's big enough and very close to the high school.

How long does this usually last? I have to pick Megan up after she gets off work at 7 so I was going to see if Bonnie and I could make it. Is it a north to south run or another way which would make getting back to Chattanooga not easy? I want to make it buy I'm afraid I'll cut it close

It's pretty much a loop.  It starts at the High School, goes out 41 and heads south, then turns off in front of the Depot . . . from there you can go any way you want.  If you head back to the high school, you loop around and head back north when you get back out to 41.  If you got to pick Megan up at 7, you'll probably be late.  The parade its self doesn't last that long once you get moving, but I've seen it where the front of the parade got back to the high school parking lot before the tail end of it started moving.

Where are you all? We are at the mcdo.

The parade was HUGE.  We were still on the parade route when you posted that.  I dropped the family off over at Ingles as soon as the parade was over and went to McDonalds . . . I waited for about 45 minutes.  I never saw anyone else, so I headed home.  Lamar called me about the time I walked in the door wondering where I was.  He must have shown up about 20 minutes after I left.

Nick showed up in Bonnie, I made it with Homer and we met up with Tommy when we lined up.  For those of you that haven't seen it, Tommy has a beautiful '63 15 Window Deluxe Microbus!
