Ringgold 1890s Days

Don't forget that the club has committed to parking cars and judging the Ringgold, GA, 1890s Days car show.  I can't remember the times some of us need to show up, but we will need a few volunteers for Friday evening to set up, and several for the day on Saturday for parking and judging.  Someone who remembers, please post the times.

OK, I finally remembered to call Brian & Amanda for more details. We will need three or four Folks to meet Friday afternoon before 4pm to set up the easy up. I will pull our trailer down and we can park it beside the tent. Club members can park behind the 1st Baptist Church at the intersection of Hwy 41 and Mountain St. We will need to park our cars there both Friday evening and Saturday.

We need to be there by 7:30am on Saturday morning. The official start time is 8am and we will need to be there to park the show cars. We should be thru by around 3pm on Saturday.

I hope to see a good turn-out for this event.

We will have the opportunity to set up and sell our t-shirts both Friday and Saturday. If you want to come on down Friday whenever you can, then come on. There are all kinds of activities going on.

Wish we could help, but we're headed to Kershaw, SC (you can't get there from here) for a couple of races. Wish me luck!

Linda has to work Friday night and Saturday night.  Therefore, she has to sleep on Saturday.  :sleepy1:  I will not be of much help having to tote around two children.

But like I said before, I'm glad the club is able to do something like this...regardless of whether or not I'm able to be there.  #-o

Things went pretty good.  We had enough help and got the judging completed on time.  I left before the awards were handed out, but I hadn't heard any real complaints before I left.  That might have changed when they handed out trophies . . . but this crowd (for the most part) was a lot more laid back than the crowd that showed up for the show we did last labor day. 8)

For a small, first time, free show, it was a good turnout.  There were right around 70 cars, everything from early original cars to rods to ricers.  I'm not a Ford man.  Never have been.  But if "had" to drive a Ford, there were several mid to late 30's and early 40's flathead V8 powered Fords that I wouldn't mind driving . . . IF I had to Ford.

Everything went well. I didn't hear any complaints except that there wasn't a class for the "ricers". They had to compete against everything else at the show. By the way Zen, the black Ford truck got "Best of Show".
