Red Bank Christmas Parade

« on: November 19, 2009, 10:23:06 AM »
As we talked about at the meeting Monday, the Red Bank Christmas parade will be Friday, Dec. 4, which is also our cruise-in night, so we'll be able to combine the two.
The parade starts at 6pm; meet up at Scenic City Scooters (2248 Dayton Blvd.) at 5:15 and we'll go to the staging area together.  After the parade, we'll go back to the Hwy 153 Dairy Queen for our monthly cruise-in.
Should be a fun night...see you there.

Here is the info from the City of Red Bank:

"The parade starts promptly at 6 p.m.
Dayton Blvd. will be closed at 5:00 p.m.
Parade lineup will begin at 5:10 p.m.
You must be on Dayton Blvd. in your assigned area by 5:40 p.m.
Your float should be part of or attached to a vehicle that can pull the float the full length of the parade. Please remember NO SANTAS ON ANY FLOAT!
All entry representatives must check in upon arrival at the line-up on Dayton Blvd. Enter the line-up from Dayton Blvd. on the south at Newberry and pull to your assigned lane and spot with your entry facing north - the boulevard will be closed at 5 p.m. to accommodate the line-up. Once the parade begins, do not get out of line unless you have problems. At all times, keep a safe distance between your entry and the participants in front of you."

Also, please remember there is no throwing of candy, etc from moving vehicles and no Santas are allowed (Red Bank has THE Santa)  We are number 39 in the parade.  They would like signage on the vehicles if you have it.

Do we have a banner of any sort?

If anyone can't make it to the parade, please join us at the DQ on Hwy 153, north of Hixson Pike, around 7pm (time may vary due to the parade.)  Tell your cashier you are a part of the club and you will receive a discount on your order.

Just curious, what's up with "No Santas on any float".

I think it's because the city has a float with Santa on it and they would like to have just one.

I'm gonna' try to be at the Scooter place by 5:15. I live in Red Bank so I feel I should do my best to participate. As long as things don't get screwy at work it shouldn't be a problem.

And...Yeah, Red Bank has THE Santa. He keeps a summer place on E. Daytona.

I'm probably not going to make it to anything this weekend. I've been sick for the past week.  Doc says I have "walking phnemonia."  I'm going to try to make it to make it back to work tomorrow.  Unless I get to feeling a whole lot better real soon, I doubt I'm gonn'a feel up to anything more than a couple of days in the office.

We're going to try to make both parades.  Got the lights charged and working on decorating the orange bug.  See you tomorrow night! :)
