Back to the Drive-In topic . . .

One of Joy's uncles is in town for a day.  When he caught wind of trip to the drive-in, he said he'd love to go . . . so we're going tonight (Sat. 6-17-06).  I "think" the Guthries are going tonight as well.  Anyone else?

Several of us ended up at the Wilderness drive-in last night to see Cars.  It's a great movie!  The drive-in is the nicest one I've ever seen and even though the place is out in the middle of nowhere it was packed.  All of the Volks Folks parked on the back row around to one side, so we really didn't have the best view of the screen.  Joy and I sat outside and didn't have a radio, so the sound was a little lacking.  I really enjoyed the movie and the drive-in and the company, but now I want to see it in a real theater so I'll have a good view of the screen and can get the full affect of the sound.

If you haven't seen it yet, you need to.  It's supposed to be a kids movie . . . but if you're under 30 you'll miss about 75% of the humor in it!  And, it actually has a very good plot!   8)

I went as well, and Linda is going to her parents house with just Trey, so I will be at the meeting Monday night.

The movie was fantastic!  I love Pixar movies anyway, but their animation just gets better and better.  I did have a stereo going...Zen, if you would have said something, I had a boom box as well...no batteries, but I did have a power inverter you could have borrowed.

You can bet that this movie will be added to my Disney DVD collection the day it goes on sale.

The Drive-In is one of the nicest ones I have ever been to.  The bathrooms were very nice...the walls were cedar (or some kind of wood) and very clean.  The food was reasonably priced, not that I bought any, but as far as compared to a walk-in theater, you will spend a whole lot less for just about the same quantity of food.  I do recommend this Drive-In for any future club gathering of this sort in the future.

Oh, and if anyone found a little wooden pull behind "fish" toy, Talia seems to have lost it and the Drive-in was where it was last seen. :(

I can't believe you guys were down in our neck of the woods and we missed you!!!  :( My sister-in-law told us that they saw a bunch of vanagons down there. I figured it was you guys. We went to South Carolina to pick up the kids. They spent a week with my sister. It sure was quiet around here. We were going to go to the Wilderness theatre to see it but felt kinda guilty going without the kids. Turns out my sister took them to see it.

You shouldn't feel too guilty about going to see it without the kids . . . kids love the movie, but about 90% will go right over their heads!  Even though it's a cartoon, most of the humor in it is really aimed at the adults in the audience.
