Sounds like fun, Jeff, but there doesn't appear to be a class that a VW would fit into. We're not Sport Compacts in the sense of 'glass flared fenders and ground effects (although I guess our fenders are "flared"). Any talk of a "foreign" or "catch-all" class?

Hello Anthony,
We set the classes this year based on Participation last year. We have the ability to adjust classes day on show. This means that we may put you in the Sport Compact Class and then if there are enough VW's/Audi's break out a seperate class just for them. We usually try to have at least 10 cars to break into a seperate class. I have posted this on severay VW website and posted around the internet at several show listing site. We may not mention the class break until awards are given out the end of the show. Besides the first 50 regristered get a Show Shirt free along with a Dash Plaque to the first 100. I hope this has answered your question/concern. If you need to call me 423-322-9104 and hope to see you on the day of the show.

Thank You

Jeff

I went too and stayed for maybe all of 20 min... 15 of which was spent talking to the kid in the parking lot with the aircooled beetle. There was one aircooled beetle at the show, one mkIV jetta and a new beetle... tons and tons of mustangs... i took a couple of pics... literally only a couple (pretty impressive for me eh?)... just really wasn't my thing... was a nice day though :)

I'll try and post the pics soon... I did take a pic of each of the 3 vw's!

There will be pictures up soon at www.thundervalleymustang.org under previous events. There were a lot of mustangs and that is the hardest thing about doing an Open Show. Once someone hears that it is being put on by a Mustang Club that miss or forget about it being an Open Show. I hope that those who came enjoyed theirselves. VWGirl, I am glad that you came by and got some pics. Hopefully next year will be larger and VWGirl if you have any input we would love to know as we received some from the people in the show thru a form in their goody bags.

Thank You
Jeff

Our club worked the Walker County Stocking Full of Love Labor Day car show for a few years . . . all I can say is I like open car shows as a spectator or to show, but I feel for anyone who has to organize or work one!  It's a lott'a hard work for no pay and no matter what, you can't make everyone happy!    I would have liked to attended, but I got roped into helping my son build a storage building.  ](*,)

Hello Zen,
I helped my Best Friend put one together and I hope you had some cordless drills/screwdrivers. That is one product that the manufacture should provide free assy.

It was a wooden building . . . we borrowed a nail gun.  It ruined me.  I'll never be able to swing a hammer again!

Wood is the way to go for one of those buildings. The metal one's can cut up your fingers to easy. Air Hammers are wonderful things. :D

Yeah I had told a couple of people about it and they saw mustang and ran... I don't really like mustangs, but i like the other stuff... I was disappointed there weren't more old pickups! I would have hung out longer, but I had a paper I needed to write for school... I'd probably have entered my car for the hellovit if it weren't for that... but some of the people that were there by themselves seemed kinda bored. I honestly wasn't there long, so I don't know if you guys had anything else going on there or not... did you have a good turnout?

I'm still being a slacker on the pic postings!
