Open Car Show - Central High School, Aug 10th, 2002

« on: August 02, 2002, 12:53:43 PM »
I just found out about an open car show to be held at Central High School on Aug 10, 2002. This will be a week from this Saturday.

The entry fee is $10 and ALL of the proceeds go to cripled children in our area. The trophies have been donated allowing all of the money to go to a good cause. Is there anything else going on that weekend? If not, let's make a good Volks Folks showing.

The more of these type shows we go to the more we will be recognized in the community.

The only other thing I know of would be the DAV in Cleveland and cruise-in at Dalton.

I am off of work on August 9th and was considering going camping somewhere...maybe Fall Creek Falls or something.  I still don't know what we will be doing, but I will keep the above mentioned car show in mind.

Just wanted to bring this back up to the top again.  Do you know anything about times, etc.?

I asked about the Central High School show today and registration begins at 8am and shuts off at 11am. It is supposed to be over by 5pm. This would leave us enough time to get to the DAV show at Cleveland. I think I'm going to try to do both shows but it will mean a long day.

I don't know if we'll be able to make the show at Central but we are planning on going to the DAV in Cleveland Saturday night.  Lamar is working on the brakes on the Orange one.  Anyway, we might be able to meet up at Central that afternoon and then ride over to Cleveland.  Is anyone else planning to go?

I'm planning on the DAV show, but I've just got too much to do to try and make both shows.

This weekend I've got to pull the engine on the convertible to replace the fan and the front transmission mount, I still need to swap out the engine in my bus, and now I have one of Justin's friend's 93 Fox sitting on jack stands in my yard needing a front wheel bearing and hub . . . I really didn't want to get tied up on that one, but I couldn't let him drive back to Chattanooga last night (and then to Knoxville today) with the right front wheel about to run off the car!
