The Scenic City Volks Folks will be participating in the Octoberfest celebration to be held on October 17, 2004 at the Chattanooga Market (formerly known as the Cricket Pavillion) in downtown Chattanooga. This is a fund raising event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

All Volkswagen owners are encouraged to attend this event and bring your VW to be placed on display inside the building. Prizes will be given for the top VWs in attendance.

Mark your calendar now for this event.

Last year Homer won the "Ugliest VW" award!   :thumbs-up:

Like the old VW ad said, "Ugly is only skin deep."

If helping the Make a Wish Foundation, looking at VWs, and eatin' good food isn't enough to get you out there, you HAVE to see the wiener dog racing!

HMMMM! :-k Let's see now, drive 200+ miles to Warner Robins, GA or drive 25 miles to downtown Chattanooga :-k . I think I'll opt for the 25 mile drive.

I would love to go down and support these guys but the Octoberfest Festival has been planned a lot longer.

The Middle Georgia show is on Saturday.  The Octoberfest is on Sunday isn't it?  I'm thinking about doing both, but if it comes down to making only 1 event that weekend, Octoberfest is it for sure!

It's probably not much more of a drive down to Warner Robbins than it is to Tacoa... :)

Is this a car show or just a VW show or are the VW's just a part of a bigger event? Is there a cost to enter? to show?

It's part of a German theme for the weekend for the market.  Last year they had Big Liver-uh, River-vending BEER, brass bands, German food, all the usual vendors, a Model A giveaway, Formula Vee rides (we took it out in the Finley parking lot for kicks), and possibly some stuff I've forgotten.  I think there was a mandatory donation of some sort to show, wasn't there?

I believe the donation is $10. I just received another plug from Nick at Chattanooga Market and this event is looking to be really nice. Much nicer than last year. There will be a lot more activities and vendors.

As some of you know and some may not know, this event is being strongly promoted by Village Volkswagen of Chattanooga and Nick is listing  the Scenic City Volks as co-sponsors. This event was scheduled long before any others and I would strongly encourage all club members, who possibly can, to participate in this. The dates were changed from last years dates so it would not interfere with Circle Yer Wagens.

All of the proceeds go to the Make A Wish Foundation so come on Volks Folks, let's show the spectators what we are made of.

Reply here and let me know who all will be there.
