October Cruise-In - a big one!

« on: September 11, 2008, 10:12:41 AM »
We have a few changes for the October cruise-in, so pay attention!

To avoid conflicting with Circle Yer Wagens we are moving our October cruise-in back one week to Friday, October 10 at 7pm. Also instead of Sonic we are convening at the Bi-Lo parking lot in Ooltewah, TN at 7:00 PM.

There's plenty of places to eat nearby too, so please come out and join us. We've also invited the Cool Breeze VW Club from Cleveland and the Chattanooga chapter of TNDubs too!

Wow !   Linda,Albert deAllison and I had a great time last night. Did anybody get a "Body" count ?
It was great to see Jeff Miller and the "herd" he drug up from the bowels of the valley.  I remember when Jeff was ruining a lot of Pampers back in the '60s when his Dad and I worked together at Southland Volkswagen.
    Jezz !!!

OH , I hope a lot of Folks got a peek at the "cut-away" engine  that Rick Swafford is doing  to show off at the B-P's.  It looks really great.  I can't wait to see what transpires from the "cut-away" Bug transmisson.  I think the tranny is the " last great mystery" to a lot of Folks.  Great Job Rick :thumbs-up:  :thumbs-up:

All I can say is WOW!  This thing is looking like a somemthing the factory would have produced back in the day to train their top technicians!  I can't wait to see it when it's finished!  !f you missed it, here's the Godfather taking a sneek peak of the short block.  I kind'a think he was impressed with Grasshopper's work . . . I know I was!  GREAT JOB RICK!   :thumbs-up:   =D>  :thumbs-up: =D>  :thumbs-up:

I did get a headcount last night. I got a total of 63 DUBS of all makes. Everyone took flyers and were willing to copy more if needed. Talk seemed to be real positive about the parade. Kyle, thanks for the tunes.

As this was my first VW cruise-in after getting back in the VW game in about 10 years, I was impressed.  It was definitely a great turnout.  It was also a pleasure to have met the few people Kyle introduced me to.  Everyone seemed like very nice people.  I do know that I like the VW guys more than the street rod/hot rod guys I am used to working around at Honest Charley.  Those people tend to be stuck up and want to tell their vehicles life story.  Generally that gets very boring, very quick.  I hope to meet the rest of the gang soon.  I will say that I will most likely not remember any of your names for quite awhile, so don't be offended.  If you're interested, the link below is what I am working on.  Thanks again for welcoming my wife and I last night!
