LaFayette Christmas Parade

"The annual LaFayette Christmas parade will be Friday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. Cutoff date for entries is Monday, Nov. 28.
The theme for the parade is "Christmas on Main Street: Reminiscences of our Troops, Our Country, Our Hometown."
Organizations wishing to be part of the parade are asked to call the recreation office at (706) 638-3908 and to fax their completed entry form to (706) 638-0403 or to mail the form to LaFayette Recreation Department, P.O. Box 189, LaFayette GA 30728.
Lineup will begin at 4:30 p.m. The parade will line up at the municipal park at 638 S. Main St. The route will follow north on Main Street through the square, turning left onto Margaret Street to the parking lot of the old LaFayette High School, now the Sixth Grade Academy.
The lighting of the Christmas tree will follow on the lawn of John B Gordon Hall. The LaFayette High School band ensemble will provide music.
All four-wheelers and motorcyclists will be required to wear helmets and follow all city and state traffic laws. Participants on four-wheels and motorcycles under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent. All violators will be pulled immediately from the parade and ticketed."
