What's the details on the Jack Daniel's cruise?

What day is it?

Where are we meeting and what time are we leaving?

Who's our designated driver?  Oh yeah, Lynchburg is in a dry county, so no designated driver needed . . .  :beerchug:

According to Misty's notes, the times are:

Feb 16th
One group will leave at 8:30 AM from Bi-Lo in Ooltewah

The other group will meet up with the first at 9:30 AM at the Cone Station at the Wildwood, GA exit on I-24.

A J.D. tasting could be arranged once we get back to Chattanooga...

I went to the JD website and found out some information regarding tours and such.  I'm not going to reprint everything right here and now...just go look for yourself.  I did send an e-mail to them asking about the tours...will let everyone know what they send back to me.  Here's their hompage

On the way back we should stop at a wine testing center and make it one big alcoholic day!

Still no word back from JD (Jack Daniels, that is).  I will email them again and see if I get word back.  :lookaround:  If that doesn't work, a phone call is next.  :nervous:

Got a reply from Jack Daniel's today.  It reads as follows...

Dear Travis,

It was so nice of you to drop us a line.  Distillery tours are available daily from 9 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Central Time, (except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day). We recommend you arrive no later than 4 p.m.  There is no charge for the tour, and they usually last around an hour.  Also, there are no age restrictions for visitors taking the tour.  All are welcomed!  For groups of 15 or more, please contact us at 931-759-6180 so that we can be expecting you.

Lynchburg is a very small place, so the distillery is about the only attraction.  You would probably want to tour the shops on the town square (about one block from the distillery).   You might try to get reservations at Mrs. Bobo's, 931/759-7394.  If she is booked for that day, there are other restaurants in town where you could eat.

We're looking forward to seeing you in Lynchburg soon!  If there's anything else we can do for you before your visit, just let us know.

Fran and friends at Jack Daniel's

So...it looks like we are on for the cruise and the tour.  Do you think there is going to be at least 15 of us going?  Should we make reservations to eat at the mentioned Mrs. Bobo's?   :questions:

For those of you that missed it, you missed a fun trip!

For those of you that went, I appoligize for being late this morning.

For those of you that thought it didn't have it in it, my bus made it over Monteagle TWICE with no problems.  I didn't even have to downshift!  But of course, I didn't have to worry too much about speeding tickets while climbing it either.  I guess my wiring problem is fixed, I didn't see any smoke coming out of the dash today.  Overall it was a very fun (and CHEAP) trip . . . It cost us a tank of gas and lunch.

Cindy picked up some brochures for the Mayfield Dairy when we stopped at the rest area on the way back, and I think she is cooking up a plan for another day trip . . . stay tuned.

Slick, Russ.  Slick.
At first I thought, "Why is he posting this picture again?"  But then I was hit in the head with a bottle by the spirit of Jack Daniels himself.
He would have made a great club member...  :beerchug:

Well, it FREE, so I don't see why we can't go back.  It's really a pretty interesting tour.  Even if you don't enjoy Jack Daniels, you'll enjoy the trip and tour.

All you need is gas money and a few $$ to eat on . . . and there is a pretty cheap place to eat in Lynchburg.  Just ask Eric.  If his food had been much cheaper they would have been paying him to eat it. (I think the blonde girl running the cash register had been sampling some Old #7 before she rung him up!)    LOL

I'm up for it again,  I enjoyed the tour and as Zen pointed out the food place in town had very reasonable prices for good looking younger men! :D
