Not sure ill have a good VW for this one but I might bring out my most rare vehicle since I've been giving it a lot of love lately. It's one of 4200. Actually I think it's 201 of 4200, but still!

That was a rough day...

if you listen carefully you can hear where the drive flange was stripped out and slipping (popping). Then there was the flat. Then there was the rest of the trail out of there. Then there was driving backroads home from Blairsville, GA at <30 mph because something in the transfer case was messing up... long day!

never seem on before

They were mentioned in fourwheeler magazine in 2000 as being the best rock crawler of the vehicles they tested that year. Its have developed a huge following for people wanting a durable 4x4 right out of the box. Everyone that has them seems to start modifying them for off road. Its as simple as 2" coil spacers and cranking the front torsions for a 2" lift. Add new shocks and 33" tires and you are ready to go in about 2 hours. Rear LSD. Add an aussie locker for <$500 and throw in manual hubs and you are pretty much unstoppable. Very nimble, short wheelbase with great factory take off and approach angles. It makes for a neat little package.

With all of that being said, it is my first car I had and I never planned to modify mine, so I'm hoping that the low production numbers and the huge offroad following make mine all that more valuable! They only made 1021 of this particular model.

I got a trophy!!!

A beautiful black 65 with red interior, a black new new beetle with a teardrop, a 72 green custom bug, sals kubvan and money's corrado all got trophies in the VW class. Henry with the custom 73 bus got an award as well.

It was a good show and a lot of fun. Money found a mk1 rabbit Avon bottle!
