What a weekend! If you missed it, you missed a great time! The Volks Folks were WELL represented at the show. Homer the Super Bus made the trip up and back without a problem, I found a lot of super bargins in the swap meet, got to see a lot of old friends and make some new ones

. . . The only bad part is I had to come home to go to work tomorrow. :?
So can I name one thing that made this show worth the trip? Dr. Mac Jones' WWII VWs on display at the MY Garage and Museum? No, wasn't that . . . didn't even go in the museum this year . . . too much other stuff to see and do. What about seeing all the cool VWs in the show? Well, there were so many, I probably didn't see half of them. How 'bout seeing a couple of restored original Herbie's from Herbie Goes Bananas? Nope, seen 'em before. So can I name ONE thing that made it worth the trip? You bet. Just getting to meet the guy who over the last 40 years has converted his split window bus into a rolling "Ice Fishing Shanty" made the trip worthwhile! It "proved" what the bumper sticker on Homer's back window says . . . "In some cultures, I'm considered normal."

This sign gives a hint that there just might be a story or two here . . .

At first glace it seems to be a rather ordinary split window bus . . . but look closer and find NOTHING ordinary about this bus . . . or the guy who's been driving it daily for the last 40 years!
