February Cruise-In

« on: January 18, 2007, 12:49:46 AM »
We will have our February Cruise-In on February 9th.  PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE SECOND FRIDAY of February.  We moved if the first Friday so it wouldn't interfere with the Dead of Winter Campout.  We also decided to change locations for February.  We will meet at Mr. T's Pizza on Hwy. 58 about 7:00 PM.   8)

Hope lots of folks turn out for this.  They have a great parking lot to hang out in and maybe it won't be too cold.  I'm sure it will feel like a heat wave has gone through for those who camped out last weekend!  We aren't going to be able to make this one due to another committment that was made back in December for us.  You guys have fun!  :)

Yeah we should be there.  Scott I will bring some Sponsor forms if you want to stop by and pick them up.  If you get aggravated with your engine again you will have a reason to take a break.

Linda told me that the last time she was up that way, Mr. T's had their sign covered up and that "Happy" something was written on a banner.  I just called them to let them know we were coming and the guy answered, "Happy Sunshine Pizza" (or something happy and sunny).  They have changed the name of the place, but essentially, everything is still the same.

I was hoping that they hadn't changed the place into a daycare center.

Despite the name change of the Pizza place, a lot of folks under the weather and freezing temperatures, we had a pretty good turnout at Mr. T's . . . I mean, Happy Days!
When I pulled in the parking lot, I was half shocked to see a bunch of buses with a Type 3 and a Scirocco in the mix . . . guess it was too cold for the Type 1s!    Over in the corner of the lot there was motor home pulling an enclosed trailer with a VW Racing logo on the back.  Joy and I showed up last (bet y'all have a hard time believing that one!   ) in the Dasher (Yes, they are not just a myth or a bad dream, they really do exist.  OK, maybe you're right, they are not just a myth) to round out the mix.

I've posted a few pictures at http://www.volksfolks.org/gallery/events/Feb07CruiseIn/

I did notice that you snuck into the cruise-in area after dark. If I could have gotten my pacemaker up to top speed ,I was going to try out one of those roadside "thingys" but you beat me there.  Oh Well.   I guess I will wait until it does it to itselve :(
