Don`t  get me wrong, I love to camp. We did a lot of primitive camping when we would take the Buggies way back into the N.Ga or Carolina Mtn.s.
We would take sleeping bags, supplies, maybe a tent and Topo. maps to look for old trails and roads. We saw a lot of interesting things like old mill sites, town sites, water falls that you normaly wouldn`t  see. We did it in the winter also when things were easier to find. Now that is what I call fun camping. I would do it again in a heart beat if I had my Buggy back. Yes the Buggy had good heat and a top/curtains, CB radios (in case). We were ready for just  about anything. You should try it. fun, fun, fun

Look everyone I can make a post on my computer at home for the first time in over a year.  I am going to make a huge effort to attend this campout,  I haven't been very active in the club for awhile now and kinda miss it!   Hopefully I'll be there with yall.

Ok, so how did it go? Turned out I was not in the mood to freeze to death at a young age.

:?  I had company from out of town.  They were sick.  Now I've got it.  Should have went camping.

But then, I guess I'd of got sick from being in out in the cold. This makes two years I've waited for this campout all year and not been able to go because of company.  Oh well, there's always next year.

It turned out that there was no need to worry about that!  The temperatures, although a little chilly on Friday night, turned out to be nicely warm indeed!  Around sixty or so on Saturday afternoon and a little warmer at night on Saturday as well. It was a lot warmer there this year than in the years past.

VolksFolks in attendance were:
Me (I brought along a friend, Tony)
Moose
Anthony Henderson (who couldn't come until Sat. pm)

There were at least 6 other buses with campers (making the total number of buses 9) and two campsites with just tent campers that came to camp with fellow VW lovers.
With electricity, we kept the Westy warm with the ceramic heater and kept the tent warm with the Mr. Heater Buddy.  I did not end up regretting going, and I'm sure that no one else regretted it either.  The bathrooms were nice and toasty...no worries about chipping ice off of the seats!  In fact, on Sunday morning, we had to have the Ranger turn down the heat in the men's restroom...too hot!
Sorry that more of you couldn't make it...it was very nice.

No amount of naysaying would have kept me from going.  I was due for a getaway...

I had to turn down the heat in my bus early in the morning.  The weather was great (and I'm the first to start bitching about the cold).  A great time was had by all watching Chappelle's Show in the Barefoot Chateau Westfalia!  Very relaxing weekend!  Now all you homebodys come on out and join us next year!
