Cruise to Woodens Apple Orchard

« on: October 09, 2011, 07:26:33 PM »
We are planning a cruise to Wooden's Apple Orchard at Pikeville off Hwy 30 for Sunday afternoon, October 30th.  We will meet up in the parking lot at Sports Academy on Hwy 153 and plan to leave at 2:00 p.m.  They have awesome apple dumplings and apple pies plus it is a really pretty drive up there.  Hope you all can come join us!   :)

I guess you mean Sportsman's Warehouse? Academy Sports is on Hamilton Place Blvd.

We are meeting at Academy Sports on Hwy 153.  Same parking lot as the new Kohls.

I couldn't make this one, but the year and half old gas is gone and Homer the Super Bus is badk up and running!   ;D  I gott'a change the oil and adjust the valves and He's ready for the road again.  Homer WILL be at the November cruise-in!   8)

Y'all have fun and eat a few apple dumplings for me!   ;)

Well we went and had a great time. Apple dumpling and ice cream...yum...yum
We had 7 cars to make the trip...5 VW's, a Volvo and a Saturn SUV. Beautiful day for the trip. Wish everyone would have been able to go. Next year maybe. I think we need to make this an annual cruise.

Linda and I had a great time. It felt good to get off my Butt and get out of the house. Lamar was correct about the apple dumplings. Those things were insanely good. Tonight I'm having a very hard time staying away from the fried apple turn overs that we brought home. Really enjoyed the road trip with all of the fall colors hitting you in the face . My time of year . Our thanks to Lamar and Cindy for coming up with this no fuss cruise. We drove the Volvo just to make sure we got back home on the same day. ;D ;D
 (just kidding) ;D ;D

Sorry I could not make it, had other plans this weekend. Sounds like something we should definitely make into an annual cruise though.

Do it on saturday next year so we can go...
We went to Ellijay and did the apple thing.
Lotsa fun - then we went to Amicolola (sp?) falls and I let my girls talk me into hiking up the falls 600 and too many steps up, 600 and too many back down.
My calves are like concreate, and I can hardly walk....

KC, I know the feeling. You ought to try that trip lugging a mid-1930's Agfa 8X10 view camera and tri-pod and other stuff trying to be another Ansel Adams ;D

David, I have 2 TLR's that I have not shot in a few years.
You still use film?

I must have missed something. What is a TLR ?   I haven't shot any film in a while. I sold my 8x10 and I'm down to Linda's 1938 restored 5x7 Agfa and another 8x10 in a box apart.

There was an error while liking
