Cruise to the Dutch Maid Bakery June 22nd OR 23rd

« on: May 28, 2013, 11:46:13 AM »
I want to go, so I'm inviting you guys.

http://www.thedutchmaid.com/index.php

I am willing to go on either Saturday morning, June 22nd or Sunday, June 23rd at noon.

The Cafe is open until 2:30. The Bakery will be open until 5pm on Saturday or 3pm on Sunday (I think that is central time). It is about an hour drive from the Trenton Wal-Mart where we often meet up.

Below is a map of the route:

I am thinking Sunday the 23rd because Saturday is shaping up to be a busy day with a lot of other events going on locally. Sunday might make it easier for more folks to make it. I realize church might be conflict with some, but if we leave at noon, that might give folks enough time to get back home and grab a VW!

Thoughts?

Other possibility would be to leave out at 8am saturday and try to make it back around lunch or shortly after.

Or a whole new weekend is possible

Sounds like fun but we already have plans for that weekend.  This is a pretty busy month for us.

We will meet at the Lookout Valley Wal-Mart at noon on Sunday and cruise up there. That should get us there at noon their time (central) and we will have a little bit of time to each at the cafe and check out the bakery. We can discuss coming back the way we came or just running over to I-24 and cruising back.

I didn't work on Homer today.  The fuel pump died on my S-10 yesterday after work . . . I didn't work on it either.  Joy ended up having to work tomorrow so she'll have the Kia.  The good news is Franny still wants to go, so Franny, Liv and I will meet up with y'all at Wally World tomorrow around noon.  We'll be in Franny's Passat.

It was a fun and interesting trip.  Wish more of you could have went.  I'll post some pictures soon . . . first I have to clean up the Passat.  Liv was complaining of her belly hurting on the way up.  She seemed fine while we were there . . . started complaining about her belly hurting just was turned off of I-24 to head back towards LaFayette . . . no need to go into the gorey details, but she wasn't kidding and I have to clean up the Passat.

Bonnie ran great until we got to Amnicola on the way to check out how the amateur radio Field day turned out. I think the float switch was sticking. I got her running a few times and she finally said no mas around 153 next to news channel 9. Got a ride back to the house and tow bared her home. All is well!

Dutch maid bakery was great. We had the Sunday buffet and picked up some bakery goods. I got the cinnamon pull a part bread (no relation to the junk yard), a Tenneessee whiskey chocolate cake and some cookies. It was quite expensive, but nowhere near as much as the $20,000 they were trying to charge Zen. Interesting math they do up in Tracy City

Yeah, if you forget to hit enter after a couple of items and you never hit the decimal key it can ring up some interesting totals!

Do you mean the electric fuel cut off solenoid ?  If so,it should have run but not idle. Have you looked for that little piece of "something" sitting on top of the needle & seat yet ??
