Downtown cleveland where the court house is. Inman and ocoee st.  They block off downtown. and everyone parks along the streets. If its nice weather they will be a ton of cars there. Propably over a hundred last month.   By the way they have it every 4th sat of the month during the summer and fall.  Were trying to get the cleveland vw club back together, (cool breeze) if any one remembers, so the should be a few vws there..            Scott come up if you can and i'll let you drive the 60' so you can see what your getting into with yours...

Hey Sixseven,  If you are putting your VW club back together ,there is a fellow I use to run with years ago name Terry Wilson who I still think lives in Cleveland.  I think Terry still has every car he has ever owned.
'67 zenith blue Bug in perfect condition, A store bought Allison Daytona Buggy and some kind of Mo-par Pony car like a Super Bee etc.
Terry use to work at Mckee Bakery in Collegedale. I use to keep his VWs up for him years ago. I would love to see him get back in the fold. He is a super nice guy and Boy, was he ever "pickey" about his VWs

We have a meeting tonight at China Moon at Eastgate Center on Brainerd Rd at 7:30.  We have a group heading down to Birmingham on Saturday for a VW Show.  I don't think we'll make it back in time for the cruise in but maybe some of those who don't go might be able to make it up.  We'll see about getting a group up for the last weekend of September.   :)

We have 2 Allisons in the VolksFolks. Alan Humphey's early model late sixties with the short hood ( pics in gallery under members cars) and mine we think is one of the last short chassis with a little longer hood and flaired fenders.Middle 70's we think.
 Being restored as we speak.
I still do some work at home, no grunt work. Do engine, tranny work. I can alignbore cases, valve jobs, linkpin-kingpin and ball joints on type-1. I try not to pull engines and trannys anymore due to old age. I'm afraid if I got down on the ground I wouldn't be able to get back up. After 40+ years on VWs I have gotten a little slow.
I would be curious to where Joe got his Allison and what year model it is.
Come on down for a visit and bring your Buddies.
I think it would be fun to swap cruise in's between our two clubs and until you guys get up and running come join us. We tell lies as good as anybody and may have a tip or two to help you guys out and maybe avoid a pit fall or two.

BUGTECH.....If I remember right joe's allison, Was a shiners car from alabama or georgia. It's really nice red in color(maybe a little flake in it) ,old alum. slot mags, looks pretty factory to me. super nice car not cut up or missing anything at all.. I had pics but lost them when my computer crashed, If I remember i'll get back up there a take some more pics.

Thanks, My Allison use to be red metal flake, then purple, then some kind of yellow primer. This poor car has been run hard and hung up wet and the floor pan was non-extistent including the tunnel, but it was all there including old school slotted mags.More work than I thought it was going to be. If it had not been a Allison, I would have walked away, but its coming along and will be a nice car I hope.
