Cruise-in at Fort O' this Saturday, June 18th

« on: June 13, 2011, 09:24:12 AM »
I meet a guy (Corky) at the Stevenson show who wanted to know if our club would want to come to the Fort O' cruise-in this Saturday night. Corky has just gotten into the VW scene after attending this year's BP and his wife decided she wanted a bug. He stated that he had several friends from around the area that have VW's and they were getting together to go to the cruise and invited us to go along. This might be a good excuse for us to get together for the evening to look at some cool cars and also make a showing for the club.

Corky said he thought it would be really cool for us to meet somewhere and cruise in together. He also stated that we would probably need to meet at about 5:30pm to cruise to the parking area even though the cruise doesn't start until 7:00pm, because if we wait until near 7:00 we would not be able to get in. Sounds like they have a big crowd at the cruise-in.

If anyone is interested in making this a club event and go to Fort O', then post a reply here. If we have enough interest and can make a good showing, I will call Corky and setup a meeting time and place. Let me know...

This sounds like a good outing for Homer.  He hasn't been out out the yard for nearly a year, but this one is close enough (a little under 20 miles from the house) that if something goes wrong, it's not too far to walk.   ;D   OK, that's a lie. If it's over a couple of miles, I'm not walking . . . but I do know a lot of folks between here and there.   8)

OK, here is the info I got from Corky.

We will meet at the parking lot of the Park Lake Apartments near Cloud Springs Rd.
That is were Corky lives and is only about a mile from the cruise-in. We will meet there at 6:00pm and cruise together from there so we will be able to park together.

There is a Fred's store right at were the apartments are located and the store address is: 1653 Cloud Springs Rd, Rossville, GA 30741

The apartments address as best I can tell from google maps is:
950 Park Lake Road, Rossville, GA 30741

I'm not familiar with the area but doesn't sound like it to hard to find.
My celll is 423-309-2830 if you any trouble finding the apartments.
