Misty's having a bachellorette party at our place Saturday, so I might hit the show.  Anyone up for it?

We can't make it this weekend, too much to do around here.  Hope you have fun and be sure to take lots of sun screen.  Not much shade at Commerce.

Right on about the (lack of) shade!  Alan, are you driving the buggy?  I was thinking of taking the camper and entering, but am flexible.

I REALLY need to stay home and get some of my bugs running and up for sale (so I can clear out a spot for the buses I need to bring home), but I probably wouldn't get that much done Saturday anyway . . . so I'm thinking about going.

Anthony and Allen - What time are you planning on leaving, and which way are planning on going?  If you go interstate all the way it's about 2 1/2 (give or take a half hour for Atlanta traffic) in a bus.  Cutting across through the mountians (Hwy. 136 or 52 or 20) is a little shorter but it takes a LOT longer.  Let me know when you plan to leave and which way you're going and I'll figure out where I'll meet up with one/both of you IF I go.     :coolgleam:

I'm not one to miss too many shows...(addict)...but I think I will have to sit this one out. :mecry: "Electric" Dave is coming over Saturday afternoon to "install" the electricity in my garage.
He has come over before to do it, but he still hasn't finished.

If you find something that you think I can't live without, well then, don't get it for me.  (It costs how much?) :jaw:

Well, I like either the Interstate or Hwy 53 east from just south of Calhoun.  It worked pretty well on the way to Toccoa last year.  I'd be up for leaving early as you want and crusing through LaFayette to catch you on the way.  I could be in LaFayette by 6:30 or 7.  Alan, I don't know what parts you live in, so we could meet up in East Ridge or LaFayette, whichever is more convienent.

I'm not going to be able to make it.  I've got to get the transmission changed out in my 73 bug (I've got it sold IF I have it fixed by Monday), and I really need to get my autostick on the road this weekend too.

Hey Letsbuggy,

As per our conversation at the meeting Monday night, I timed myself from my house to Commerce yesterday (I was going to Lavonia, about 30-40 miles on up the road past Commerce).

I was wrong about it being 2 1/2 hours to Commerce.  It takes LESS than 2 1/2 hours!

I walked out the door at exactly 5am yesterday, got in my bus and headed out of LaFayette.  At 5:35 I reached the interstate at Resacca.  By 6am I was at GA Hwy. 20.  At exactly 6:30 I was merging onto I-285.  At 7am I was back up to GA Hwy. 20 on the I-85 end . . . and at exactly 7:26 AM, two hours and twenty six minutes after I walked out of my house, I passed under the overpass at the Commerce exit.  :thumbs-up:

On the way back, I was making even better time until . . . :cussing: . . . well, I'm sure someone will have some comments on "the rest of the story!"  :oyvey:

So, the bottom line is, yes, you CAN make it from my house to Commerce in LESS than 2 1/2 hours in a bus!  But, DON'T!   :spank:
